As predicted - tires/box/strategy. No shock to see this. On one lap pace Red Bull was fast but race pace on correct tires and strategy Mercedes were faster. Nice day for Max overall but his team let him down. He is the future with others on the grid.

Ferrari are a shambles as described by Gary Anderson in Autosport this week.

Who knows what will happen to Bottas. I see why he would pressure Max early and had to to take the lead with position very key here. I think he is worth keeping given Ocon's lack of experience in a big team. He should get 1 more year in a team racing before moving up to Mercedes if they decide to employ him. The future is not Ocon for Mercedes as lead. I think someone else.

Driver and Team of the Day = Mercedes. Without question.

As he should have. The pit wall did an amazing job of keeping him in the race

Not our track, but thanks to Bottas the result was better than it should be, we shouldn't complain.

I hope that at Spa and Monza at least we'll be in the fight.

Bottas can work there, too, as he's used to getting screwed.

    Good summary.

It's worrying just how far back both Ferraris were from the fight amongst the leaders. :(

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I get what you’re saying to an extent. However if they ever want to challenge for a championship then they cannot be over a minute off on any track. Has there been any track that both mercs where a minute behind? I’m tired of Merc’s “magical” ability to get whatever they want from these tires. Corrupt **** this sport is.

Uhhh yeeaah. Such a great idea to move Binotto from his previous position to team principal. Don’t worry though he’ll have a really nice IG post telling us that we lost because we weren’t as fast as the wining team with a flattering picture of himself. He’s a ****.

Impressive, clever and daring Mercedes pit wall. And yes, it took a top driver to see the strategy through. That much is undeniable.

Even the almighty Mercedes had some "off" moments , so what did you expect from an average car like ours?

The worst part is that we could already have three wins and a comfortable 2nd position in the champonship, but missed the chance when the car was working fine while today or at France everything went smothly. Luck is a *****.

Heads down at Honda/RBR and Merc....If RBR does it right Max stands a chance at the title, albeit a slim one.

Bottas will play butler from now on. Max doesn't have one....
