I really do not understand Chevy's thinking here. Just make the option for Ediff, brakes, exhaust and magnaride separate options. They would probably make MORE money!

If you go with black, that rear wing (and “boomerang “) are not as noticeable

Yes. Go black in Las Vegas. Not!!!! :)

In the summer too hot and the other seasons too dusty. The number one color of cars in Vegas is some kind of silver.

The only option that I would really like is ceramic brakes.

In my mind that goes a long way to qualify a car as exotic.

Probably have to wait a few years.

In the meantime I have a deposit through Chevy at one dealer and a "paper list" at another.
Both for MSRP. Z51 seems like a slam dunk for $8K (?).

Obviously I'll choose the one that can deliver first.

This would be my very first brand new sports car and my first Corvette.

    Kind of nervous.

My Z51 is 13 years old and more car than I have skill for to push hard. Wish I had bought a C6 3LT Z51 several years ago. I am VERY hard to please or impress with all the cars I have owned or been allowed to drive.

Yes, the main factor is the low cost and performance, but with other things going on in my life I cant have an exotic or beater Ferrari anymore. Loved my euro QV's and 328's , but not for what they are selling for now.
The C6 was a great turning point. C5 was perhaps the start but I dont like the look of the C5, dont want to issues that come with a ZR! or Z06 (higher GA tax, higher insurance, Z06's have some cooling and cylinder head issues).

Even if C8's have some sort of new model issue, I cant imagine GM not taking care of the cars under warranty otherwise it will sink the brand.
Have no interest in 348, 355, 360 or Testarossa any more given all the problems Ferrari built them with and the costs to sort them out.

I would like to get an LS3 later C6 with the A6 at some point as mine is a 2006 LS2.

First congrats! Second don't be nervous--it's a great car at an amazing price. Agree with Z51, but the no wing looking is certainly growing on me...will be tough when they call for final order.

Before you guys run off and start putting duck tail spoilers on your new C8s, just remember that a wing has great utility as a picnic table according to GM Focus Group studies. :D

I keep going back and forth but if I'm buying a convertible, I don't see the need for Z51. I'd rather upgrade the interior because I'm using this as my new daily driver.

The rear spoiler and the front splitter are big problems for me. I would have to get the lift option looking at that overhang.

I took this picture the other day. Its pretty low and sticks out even further.

Is it carbon or a flexible plastic/rubber?

Its just an injection molded plastic piece similar to the bumper itself that's bolted on to the bottom of the bumper. There is no CF option but I'm sure the aftermarket will jump all over it and the spoilers.

ok then it's probably pretty durable. Scrape away and don't worry about it. Not an $8,000? cf splitter. It's just a Chevy. ;)

Exactly. It looked to me like it was sacrificial. 3 separate pieces.

The aftermarket is going to love this car. It screams CF everywhere and Chevy isn't doing it. That plus engine and exhaust mods which you know are coming.

I thought I read that the ECU was locked/untunable. More so than the C7 which I believe was recently 'cracked'.
Of course, where's there's a will, there's a way, like maybe a completely separate piggy-back system. But how many people are going to want to void their warranty on a completely new model Chevy.
That warranty could come in handy, especially for early adopters.

    LOL!!!!

Nothing is "uncrackable". It will be cracked. But even without ECU mods there will be plenty of bolt ons or actual internal engine mods for the C8.

Actually you can get carbon fiber. It's part of the visual carbon fiber ground effects package..

Yes but not much. For example the side scoops cannot be in CF or the rear wing or front splitter (at least from Chevy).
