458 Retrofit iPod adapter - Can it be done? 2014 458 Spider

I have a 2014 458 Spider with the base stereo (Becker unit) without ipod/nav/sat/rear camera. My Ferrari dealer ordered the "458 Beker iPod adapter", however, could not successfully install the iPod adapter to the Becker radio. They state that when they opened up the dash to access the stereo, they found no input connection or harness in the base model Becker radio and they state that there is no way retrofit the iPOD adapter cable. They state my only option is to hard-wire an FM modulator. So I have 2 questions:

(1) Has anyone successfully retrofitted an iPod adapter to a 458 that has the basic Becker radio?

(2) How is the sound with a hard-wired FM modulator?

I retrofitted an iPod adapter to my 430 Scuderia with the basic Becker unit. IF it’s the same unit then it should be able to be done. If it’s not, then it might be another story.

 

Yes I read that thread ... the concern I have is whether this can be performed on the basic Becker radio unit with no nav (on a 2014 458 spider)

 

Glad to hear you were able to retrofit it. Does anyone on here know if the 430 and 458 share the same basic Becker unit?

 

Good news! The dealer was able to install the iPod connector today. Initially, the dealer thought that this was not possible on my radio (basic Becker radio, no nav, 2014 458 spider) but after I emailed them the pics/videos from users posts from threads on this webpage, they were able to locate the iPod harness. Thank you everyone!

 

It has or has not the connector …. that simple …. normally yes ..
