Well, I guess my assertion “pictures can deceive/lie more than thousand words” I paraphrased and adopted decades ago applies here. Likely owing to lighting & inadequate color capturing capabilities of an iPad snapshot, the carpets in the picture, while quite unusual and fairly accurately color-matched to original, are not grey. OTOH, having previously restored one with black interior set atop of light grey carpets (both original to that car), I agree that contrast is also very nice.
Thank you for a great demonstration of what a difference lightning and/or use of flash can make. I assume the carpets in both pictures are same grey(?), but in the second shot they appear more like blue. Now if those somewhat unbecoming aftermarket mats were out, that nice color contrast would look even more attractive.

The blood trough detail painted black in this example. Evidently this detail has been painted in a number of different colors by the factory on various models of the coupe and spyder. Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is #14093, a Daytona I know since July 1989 already. I was also involved with 14093 in February 2016. In this particular case the black stripe was not painted but a black tape only (done in Italy in December 2015). Marcel Massini Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is this photo of the car “as delivered” at the time it was still “new” or was it taken later in the cars life ?
While some Daytona owners worship original build specs there is another group that know what they want from their car. The factory build spec is a detail that they simply don't rate very highly. The original details simply disappear with the whim of the new owner... Image Unavailable, Please Login
With other unusual details present on the car in that photo I was doubting it having been taken when car was new. Thank you for confirming my suspicions.
