Call me crazy but I prefer the TRX for early Mondials, especially the Coupe.

My 2 cents is keep the stock wheels (or switch to 16" reproductions).

I'm not a fan of non-stock wheels on almost all Ferrari's, but the Mondial especially. The Mondial is such an idiosyncratic design to start with, that further additions just make it look messy at best, and borderline "kit car" at worst. And I say that as someone who deeply loves this model!

Looks great in the sun, low light not so much.

Wheels on the car now are the 16 inch repros.

Another post in another thread stated that the way Ferrari made the center section of wheel it makes the wheel look too small. I’m not looking to upsize the tires as much as the wheels. If the standard 308 16inch 5 spoke had the right offset they’d already be on the car.

It’s only a matter of deciding what looks the best for the right price to replace them. So I’ll have a set of 16s with 2 year old tires for sale soon for all you TRX guys

    Very nice and uncommon color.

What I meant by "TRX" is really the metric wheels with the TRX Michelin tires (390mm). The tires themselves have that period "ballon" look that's so appropriate for its time. :)

Keep it original, everything else looks really wrong, you can not modernize this design in mine opinion.

Your Mondial is really beautiful. In my opinion the stock wheels are best. The only other option I might consider are these gold concave 5 stars, 15” or perhaps 16”, common on Ferrari race cars of the era..(also similar to gold coffin wheels on the Lancia Stratos):

I always like stock wheels best, but the Mondial wheels are fairly small and not my favorite anyway. If you really want to change them, I would go with Ferrari rims from a later car. Those 355 wheels look fantastic.

I don't really like the "balloon" OEM look, but it appears I'm in the minority (... of the subset who like the Mondial ;):D)

I like # 3, 4, and 5 from your original post, ALTdoghouse's 348 wheels, or Mark's suggestion of the gold racing wheels.

    Would F360 wheels fit?

Somewhere, maybe here on FChat, I saw a 3x8 (I think) that the owner had gone up to a 17" or 18" wheel and lower-profile tire to fill the wheel well. I think they said it also lowered the center-of-gravity. I thought it really modernized the look, and added even more "lean muscle" to the lines of the car. The purists may think it sacrilegious, but I liked the photos. :D lol

I love your car, but hate all those wheel options. None of them look right on your beautiful Mondial. The 16's is exactly what I'm running from Superformance - they look so RIGHT. I say save your money, you have the perfect set up right now!

I just took hold of my first Ferrari, an 86' 3.2 coupe. I need to replace the 22 yr old tires. I'm opting to keep the original wheels and spend the money on the Michelin TRXs. I'm keeping it all original. Some of the newer option wheels just don't go with the mid-80s styling. I can tell you though that I will be putting on new bolts, mine have dings and rust.

My 1990 t is stock, and I’ll keep it that way but 348 wheels look great on the Mondial.

Yes, to me, those rare-colored early cars (Oro, Verde, etc.) look best in oem. Or maybe the Superformance replica's in 16".

But it's not my car. So enjoy! :)

There is a picture on the internet somewhere I’ve seen several time of a red Mondial T coupe with 360 CS mesh type wheels.
Very classy looking and filled the fenders perfectly.
