Having a lump problem here too. Toward the 2nd half of the bag it’s gravel sized stuff. Not much lump to it. Pizza cooking now and can’t get it much above 400 either.

After my effort of the other night, I just cleaned it out today. Need some quality lump for a test. What brand do you use?

Humphrey’s. Think out of PA. Also BGE brand. Tried one from either Cuba or Central America and it was full of rocks.

You, NbyNW and SoCal1 are the reigning F-chat pizza gurus!

I've thought about one of those pizza oven gizmos for Weber kettles, but I've more or less settled on the BGE as my go to for outdoor pizza. My last effort was really the only time I can recall not being able to get super hot temps.

I'd like to jerry-rig something to put the pizza up a bit higher, closer to the BGE dome, to see if that will give me better/faster cooking on the top of the pizza before the bottom gets burnt.

    Forno Bravo oven.

I usually make 6-8 13" pizzas at a time. Made 6 tonight. I make a couple-three with pepperoni for my son, the rest simple margherita with a big bowl of
arugula and prosciutto to put on top.

This is only the second time I've eaten pizza since March 10 when I was discharged from the hospital. Was diagnosed as a diabetic and had nearly died from DKA. Two days later drove my F12 on COTA for the first time (ever on a track).

Kinda sucks being 100% guinea. I have only eaten one half a bite of pasta in Modena when my son made me try his tagliatelle. But it is what it is and I'm just thankful to be alive....YOLO baby, YOLO...

Understand... really backing off pasta and sugar here. Nowhere close to what I used to eat.

Sounds like a Southern dish. Is it sweet? Savory?

I have a client that has taught my wife how to can just about everything vegetable and without a pressure cooker. The green tomato pie was actually pretty sweet and would almost pass for an apple pie.

Lean Cuisine chicken parm last night. It wasn't bad for a frozen dinner. For the next month its Lean Cuisine and salads for me.

Keep close tabs on the salt content and such for those. When the mother in law got into her 90s, we'd buy those for her to eat when we traveled. Many have a butt load of salt.

When I lived in Memphis, apart from collard greens, most Southern foods like pig jowls, fried green tomatoes, boiled peanuts, gizzards, etc. that this Brooklyn boy has never seen before, I enjoyed. Collards, I only enjoy when it has a ton of bacon in it, then it's more like bacon with a few flecks of greens! :)

Ah the South....live in a small oil patch/farm town of 13,000. The bohemian 4 course meal- chicken fried steak, German potatoes, green beans and a slice of white bread.
