Hello.... Just looking for clarification. I'm writing a (self publish single copy) book on my experiences at the Montreal Ferrari Festivals of 2005 and 2009. I shot many photos and instead of filing them on my hard drive, I decided to put them in book form with descriptions and history etc.....
So..... Does anyone know if the 250GT SWB, 2291GT is it an alloy bodied Competizione or a steel bodied Lusso?
I'd appreciate any help you guys may offer.

    Thanks

This question would be better placed in the vintage section.

In the aforementioned article the description is used to emphasize the racing pedigree that was applied by first owner Ecurie Francorchamps.

Thank you. I am not aware of a lightweight steel used for a SWB. They were either steel or alloy bodied with the '61 SEFAC Hot Rod SWBs using a lighter gauge aluminium. Pourret's book is confusing as it described 2291GT as a 1960 Street car and the same version as 2237GT, which is described as a Comp. car. Says that 2291GT was perhaps rebodied in steel after a crash. Pourret also stated that the car still has competition jack brackets on side, competition gearbox and whole body in steel, including doors.

If the car was rebodied after a crash, maybe a lighter gauge steel was used by Ecurie Francorchamps?

Lightweight refers to the total bodyweight, not the body material I think.

Looks like a bit of a hot rod, (not the SEFAC type), with its 6 carb arrangement.
