In an older car, maybe, but I’d be surprised. You should get much more distance and much whiter light on high beam. Low beam is the problem. The lenses are not conducive to LED globes and cause a ‘dead’ spot for the first 2 - 3 meters in front of the car. It’s not the best, but if you are on low beam you are generally in a street lighted area. The LED sealed beams will definitely be better, because the lenses will have the correct refraction for them and there should not be any dead spots. I've parked the LED light upgrade for the moment. The heater shutoff valve has sprung a leak and the steering relay rod ball joint worn out. Both new parts 2 years ago, both made in Mexico. I'm learning the hard way to make the extra effort to track down made in USA parts.
I think I need to upgrade the alternator first, need to find one that looks period but pumps out more juice.
What's the matter with it? He doesn't need to buy one of those tosser friendly personal ones. Besides he can put the extra dosh colour-coding his clothes................................................ black.
