    While I'm at it - what do you guys think of the following mod I will eventually make to the E-Type. I think it is universally agreed that the worst aspect of the Series II cars is the taillight valence. The typical "fix" I am used to seeing is when the valence is removed and the Series I taillights are placed above the bumperettes.

    I noticed by accident that the the curvature of the Audi Q5 lower bumper taillights are an exact match to the curve of the E-type's body just below the bumper (at least on the S. II whose rear bumpers are a tad higher than the S.I and S.1.5 cars). Since I have been to the top of the mountain for Concours/green grass shows w/ our old Mondial at Pebble, I am happily over my obsession with originality and judging - especially with a production car. So I am thinking of having body work done that removes all of the quarter lights (that were only installed on the export cars) and snugs the Q5 taillights just under the bumper. JCNA might want to take my keys away, but I think it could look pretty cool, and regain that great tail curve of the E-type that is totally obscured by the production valence situation.

    Yes, we are in regular contact w/ the new owner - 0556(0446)MD is in very good hands and lives only an hour or so from RoadAmerica where it can get some exercise.
