PP's "I thought Chloe is your dog" has got to be the post of the month.

    Thank you Karen!
I do appreciate all the helpful posts. Nothing like a novice going to a track day to show that we're all really lovely people after all.

However, it's all a bit disturbing so perhaps I can help bring things back to normal...
Most people are probably shocked that a 355 can go on a track and not go flying off into the grass every second lap.
If only I was tech-savvy enough to have dubbed the Benny Hill music as the soundtrack to my lap video... :p

    Haha! Yes I laughed too.
There was a brief period after Sunday that Chloe threatened to join this website, she'd had such a great time.
Thank the Lord I was able to put her off!!:D

Simon told me not to do that and I'm glad I didn't!
However, perhaps I shouldn't have picked up the Grandma mist instead...

It's funny how I wish I could go straight back there now and start fixing my mistakes.
Damn, this is addictive and is going to be expensive...

We're hoping to do a track day at The Bend next month.
What was your time again?! :)

Oh, and yes Chloe is a nurse. Some 355 owners prefer female nurses...

Nope you did it right, as Ian says you can start picking up speed from a slow start; trouble comes when you need to slow down FAST from a too-fast start in...

I hope it works for them, but it won't be easy, just think back to the A1 series here and the lack of spectators. The irony is that circuits are doing better out of corporate days than race meetings. Lots of people interested in free/subsidised Merc and Porsche days, but not paying to watch.

Spent last weekend out at Leyburn for the sprints - over 200 entries (everything from 1929 Austin 7 through Escorts, Datsun 1600 and Fiats, to Porsche GT3) - absolutley fabulous grass-roots mororsport and great fun camping / spectating. Also pumps heaps of money into VERY small rural towns in the district. This year was the 24th running and celebrated the first Australian GP in 1949 on the nearby airstrip. MG TB that actually competed was present, as a nice touch...

Going by the number I think it's the Nissan Silvia (listed at just under 6 litres so no idea what engine); won over 2 l sports sedan non-log book ; 62nd overall but yes, he put on a very good show!

BTW- I meant to say give a hug to F and D - hope their visit turned out well!

It's owned by a bloke ,who Pat will know,Peter Ullrich.
His previous hotrod was one of the most successful bitumen rally cars in Oz,a Jensen CV8.
The Avanti is not proving as successful......yet.
The CV8 has been for sale for quite some time @ 120K.

No doubt with a Paxton supercharger. Studebaker was an innovative and iconoclastic company.

I thought it was sold, but haven't been keeping an eye on things. The Ullrichs built the CV8 to take advantage of a gaping hole in the regs - maximum engine capacity. The thing had at least 600bhp. Still, I've managed to knock him off on the occasional stage in the Lotus. They used pull the whole thing apart after every event, so it was pretty reliable too.

His gear clusters cost him $11K to put together...

He was the third person out of 3 to ask/tell me to come back!
Ashley Yelds has my Ph in case he needs some bits for his.
