Hey, Is it safe to put the 458 in neutral mode (hitting both paddles at the same time), then rev to make it noisy, and then put in back into a gear in high speed? Say 80-100km/h (40-60mph?)? Can it break the clutch or gearbox? Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
Adam, No engine likes being revved with no load. If you do it once or twice, you’ll be fine. Who hasn’t? That 458 engine sound is intoxicating. Do it often, and that unnecessary wear and tear will catch up to you eventually. If you are going to do it, at least do it when all fluids have reached service temperature and not a minute before. In terms of the DCT itself, you should be fine. The procedure you allude to is listed in the owners’ manual. Kind regards, Nuno.
What Nuno said! Gearbox no problem, put it in neutral, give it gaz a few times a press the right paddle, done. What to you mean hight speed? I usually do it when in cruising at 40 -50 km/h and some child asks me to do sound, why would you do it at 200 km/h?
Yeah with high speed I mean 40-80km/h but you answered my question. Thanks Sent from my CLT-L29 using Tapatalk
