for a few months my car idle, would creep up from 1000 rpm to 1500 rpm. I cleaned both idle valves and checked the linkage. Still the idle would go to 15oo rpm. After I replaced my alternator and replaced a broken alternator wire, my idle is now a steady 1000rpm. The IAC valve was not getting the correct voltage so it did not work correctly. Always amazed how important that everything is getting the correct voltage.

I just added 2 new ground wires because of this fear of electrical grounding issues and wire brushed original ground locations. Thanks for sharing reminding!

How sure are you it was the valve and not some other component getting the wrong voltage?

Does the IAC operate with straight DC or a square wave with a differing duty cycles? The manual doesn't specify.

Just assumed it was IAC not controlling idle. Seems likely. Water temp sensor to ecu or TPS is posssible also I suppose
