OK, ready to go on the morning...plenty of parking, from today's recon.....I had surfboards in the back so did not stop. Noon race time! 7:30AM gates opening......
The performance from the new Corvette is underwhelming to say the least. 1:45 seconds slower per lap than the top Aston Martin. Heck, the Ford GT would still beat them handily.
A Ferrari did look good again until towards the very end and worked into 3rd. I expect Corvette might be testing things and hope for bop for Sebring which is the big race. Another front engine car with Aston winning today....hummm....what up IMSA?
They had cameras up and good trackside video, not hearing the announcing made it hard to follow. They also forgot to promote it...people in Austin were asking, "There's a race this weekend?" Will post my pictures when I get home.
It ran the whole race...Corvettes Transporters in the Paddock dwarfed all other efforts, TWO of them to support a single car, while Ferrari AF Corsa occupied four pits with just one....
My phone was dead by the time I left the Paddock Club and made it up to a MGS Sky Box......most of them were empty, catering people actually surprised when I dropped in!!! Ready, but bored.
