It was avoidable with a touch of brake by Max. Kimi on A proper line.

That's an essential asset to have in your panoply for a driver with some ambition.
Leclerc seems to me to be a "cerebral" driver.

How long do these monday morning quarterback nonsensical posts go on?
    It's done. Behind us.

Yes and I made mistakes, liked the technical aspect better.

Aww, how else can we fill in the time between races, don't spoil it unless you know the results for Monza!!

However, I was jus' referencing it regarding putting one's last competition behind and moving on. ;)

I've sperlt' it because yes, I do know.

I shan't tell tho' otherwise I'll start another childish anti-fanboy (which I'm not of any driver/team) tirade... :p

In reality, Max was trying to make up for a bad race start. He overreacted...

The main thing about the start was this..... Charles drove away in perfect control...Vettel managed to fluff his lines, but I think most would rather start third than second with such a nasty corner just yards into the lap, but despite his problems, he out drove Elton to take him, using the power of the ferrari which for just one race, we were able to enjoy, and pure slipstream..... no ******** DRS, just a racers reactions and the power of his own car. Nice move.

Now then, if Pirelli could just honour the whole grid and not just Mercedes, and build tyres to suit ALL teams, and stick with them for an entire season, we may even get a few more races where Mercedes have a battle on their hands

Correct....but mistakes happen. I think a huge fuss is made about not much.

Schumacher had these type of incidents plenty also....even when he was 3-4 times WDC already. Misjudgements happen, especially at the start.

Do you think that making a mistake is not the issue, making the same repeated mistake is? - Only a fool makes the same mistake twice:)

Perhaps but I doubt it was the same mistake, if so than more than likely by design- even so they had won multiple WDC titles, MV hasn't and to win one he has to be smarter. Just my POV

Max hasn't had access yet to a car that's capable of winning a championship. He and Ric last few years clearly get the maximum out of their cars at pretty much any given time...

MAx has been the most consistent driver of all of them in the last 12 months, so on that basis, and the obvious speed advantage he has, he could be the most likely to win a championship, given a car that's close to the fastest within reason.

No sure if he will get a car capable of winning a championship at Red Bull.
Good for sporadic wins on some tracks perhaps, but no more than that.

Their engine seems ever improving. Their car is adapting to the engine and moving forwards quickly.

Of course the easiest way is to get a seat at Mercedes, but Hamilton blocks that. He has a better chance to win a title at Red Bull than Ferrari.

2019 was never going to be the championship contending year. 2020 at earliest

We will see. Verstappen's future, like Red Bull, is dépendent on Honda; they are a client team.
I'm not sure Honda is aiming for a title; a few wins here and there get them all exited in Japan, and that seems enough for them.

Hamilton's detractors keep insisting that he is blocking other drivers in the team, but I don't think that's true.
It's rather Toto Wolff who see potential conflicts, and prefers the status quo at Mercedes, IMO.

I think 2020 could be Leclerc's year, if the Scuderia serves him right.
Ferrari has the most powerful car, only let down by poor strategy and Binotto's love affair with Vettel.

Why would elton want Verstappen alongside him? Why would he want a challenge at all?

Honda is in it for titles, obviously. what a bizarre thing to say.

2020 who knows. Mercedes likely the best. I'll be amazed if Ferrari makes a good car...it'll be by accident for sure.

Hamilton thrives on competition he's one of the few drivers that actually enjoy's have a hard fight within the team. H'e done it before with Alonso Button and Rosberg and he's always come out on top so I highly doubt Hamilton has any fear of Verstappen or any other driver on the grid.

I hope Ferrari continue to improve and Leclerc with them so we can have an even better WDC fight in 2020.

No, Red Bull is in for titles, Honda isn't.
Honda is certainly an unreliable F1 participant (only Renault is worst); they come and go as they please.
As far as I know, they are only committed to Red Bull until end of 2020.
Honda approaches racing from a different angle than most constructors.
They see it as an extention of their R&D department, and a way to form new engineers who often end up designing production cars.
As long as they learn something profitable, they will stick to F1, but if they are satisfied of the know-how acquired, they leave suddenly.
Honda racing effort is also very much depending on their marketing performance; at the slightest downturn, they panic and quit.
One or two things may decide them to call it a day at the end of next year.
They may see that hybrid technology has reached its peak, and that they need to catch up on EV technology , where they are far behind rivals Toyota and Nissan.
Honda sales have been slowing down, and they have closed factories, so financially, they may have to reduce they racing spending.
