Hahaha except 2016 when he got a hiding from Rosberg of course, in a two horse race, and button kept him honest, and Alonso ended up on the same points bar one wasn’t it?, and that was with the team against him for half the season. Total ********

William may be a little right. I think for Honda, it is more about "saving face" due to the McLaren debacle, and the Japanese ideology of gaman.

they wouldn't spend the money they do simply to save face...they had the perfect opportunity to bow out. of the sport and be forgotten...imagine if they continued having the same problems they did as with Mclaren? That's a risk not worth taking surely if all you want to do is be merely ''adequate''

For Honda, F1 is a R&D exercise where they want to learn new technologies.
Honda walked away from F1 several times in the past, even when very close to success.
This time, they only want to vindicate themselves after the adverse publicity during the McLaren partnership.
They are only committed to Red Bull until the end of 2020, as far as I know, and I wouldn't be surprised if the leave after that.
Also, Honda is itching to join Formula E, and catch up with Nissan and Toyota in EV technology.

Are you guys really trying to make it seen like Rosberg won the WDC for any other reason than the reliability of Hamilton's car that is truly laughable.

Alonso lost to rookie Hamilton 2nd and 3rd for Alonso...

Hamilton has never ran from a strong second driver along side him but Alonso ran back to Renault and Rosberg retired after winning his only season beating Hamilton since they were kids because he knew Hamilton would be gunning for him and racing even harder the next year and he didn't stand a chance. In fact after losing to Button and with Whitmarsh clearly leaning Button's direction he stay and beast Button before he left just to prove appoint and he did.

Just so you know Hamilton took 10 wins and 12 poles to Rosbergs 9 wins and 9 poles. Without Hamiltons brand new PU failing while he was in a commanding lead in Singapore it would have never happened.

    As always: selective memory...
    1) who led the championship when they came to Singapore?
    2) what about Nico's unreliable car in 2014 with "fluid in the steering column" (when he was leading the WDC as far as I remember) and a complete Kers failure in the last race?
Lewis had one DNF because of his engine and this is soooo unfair but who cares that Nico had his share as well.
You Lewis-fanboys are really very "reasonable " and paint the world in the colours you want to see it....hillariois

About "strong team mates" and not running away from them: in the first season he had absolutely no saying about his team mate in a rookie season and both Button and Nico where never considered as "that strong" that anybody saw a thread for Lewis in them, the least himself! Button then outscored him over a three years period and Nico won a WDC in the same car and could have won one more (2014).
Unless you consider them as two of the real greats I do not see anything in that period that could convince me nearly to praise Lewis the way you do it.

Yeah right.... why using your own brain when you can just regurgitate what the very same driver says to make himself look better...
I leave it to Verstappen what we can think about Nicos statements: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/verstappen-rosberg-the-new-villeneuve/4532588/
But as always: no argument from your side, only polemics.....

PS: and I forgot to say that your posts are not even entertaining anymore....

  11. I can't speak for 355, but, I'm not even suggesting that. I was just disputing your statement:
I've no axe to grind as I've stated numerous times before ('guess you never read any of those posts). I'm a fan of no team or driver (Jimmy died in '68, and the heart of Lotus with Colin in '82). I am just a fan of auto racing (all sorts). I'm one of the few here that defends against the silly anti-Hamilton posts.

    'Sorry you misunderstood. :)

Not sure if i overlooked it but point me to where in that article Rosberg said something that conflicts his statement on Hamilton being a great?

It says that Nico mostly says what suits his own interests... in this case to have coverage and you can figure out what it says about himself when he states that he has beaten "a great" to a WDC. Even you with your Lewis-blinkers should see that a statement like this is hardly unbiased....

Great entertainment, problem is now you have to think of a excuse why Alonso, Berger, Brawn, Lauda etc etc, have all said the same thing

Good god, is there not a ‘I love Elton so much it hurts’ dot com that people can go to to declare their undying devotion to Elton? The blindness that seems to afflict some of Elton’s superfans is frankly ridiculous, my 3-yr old has more of her own mind and more apparent ability to interpret a situation. I think it’s very clear that since the arguments spouted are at times so clearly unbalanced, improbable and totally farcical, anyone looking from the outside in to this forum must wonder what on Earth is going on and why people can’t seem to spot posts entirely designed to incite when they are so apparent to everyone.

Every page is the same, someone has a pop at Ferrari/Schumi/Vettel etc, because of course, it’s a Ferrari dominated site, so that’s the quickest way to start the fire, then to get things going, stats are twisted, memories of events are moulded to suit the stats rather than the reality of their occurrence, and when called out, everyone is labelled haters, racists, whatever fits the line best. Surely, it has to be pretty clear to some of the protagonists that they continue to make fools of themselves to the majority of people subjected to reading the stuff? Crikey, it’s like a cult, this Elton love thing... however ridiculous the argument has to get, blindly it rolls on.

So, let’s get the nitpicking done for you of my post too, shall we, save us having 20 pages of accusations...... my post is aimed broad brush at the situation caused by these arguments, not any particular poster, there are plenty of posts that are accurate examples for my statement. Fact.... this is a Ferrari majority site, the vast majority of visitors are interested in an aspect of Ferrari, so it’s a statement of fact, and not a statement of exclusion. Again a statement of fact, if you want to rile and incite a group of likeminded people, launch a verbal assault on their shared interest - in this case Ferrari, Schumi etc, so again, I’m simply identifying how posters wanting to cause issues can do so very easily. My point about inaccuracies, exaggerations, false stats and the like is proven almost every single page of the f1 forum, they are twisted constantly to suit the agenda yet again purely to rile people, they are even completely reversed as and when necessary to a different argument at times!.

Yes, the label hater is used as though it’s not allowed to disagree with the one point of view of team 44..... sorry guys, nothing in this free world allows anyone to ride roughshod over the opinions of others. The term racist and all sorts of stuff gets levelled at many of us on occasion when it suits, yet not one shred of evidence for racism exists for any poster here.

Is it a cult, well, I do wonder. The definition of a cult is a group following a doctrine or cause with absolute faith and disregard for other opinions.... am I right? I certainly think so, and while some may not like to hear it, it’s a valid point of opinion. There is never any common ground conceded by team 44 about anything, if tifosi said the sky was blue they’d suggest that was sexist and it should be considered part pink or something. To me, the blind faith in the cause and unwillingness to have a middle ground seems too much like it

I know I get a huge laugh out of them... to be honest I don't even read them. I just see a huge post and start lol hahaha. Hamilton will likely go down as the greatest F1 driver ever when he retires. But it doesn't matter what I say but his peers do seem to agree with me.

Always gives me a good laugh to start the day when I see how little some know about F1 yet try to create the impression for themselves that they know it all... Anytime the boys niggle me - I just think to myself - how can u not titter !

(Please note, ‘titter’ is an English word meaning to giggle, to titter, to make light of something, to find fun in something - just in case it does not translate and someone makes up something)

Hehehe, absolutely..... want any tips with the babes, man, you just come see me! You realise I specialise in identifying a certain type of girl right? Just the right side of easy. The hard part is making sure there ain’t a lot more babies ‘all over the world’ as you put it - my motto is, always wear your raincoat to an away game!

I sense judgement in your post, and I agree, what could there be to possibly be happy about on spending your down time chasing birds, going to Vegas and driving Ferraris? What a donut I am eh? I must find myself a more interesting hobby....hmmm, maybe fashion, or my music! Hehehe, no, I would look awful in a dress, and I’ve heard myself singing and I reckon the auto tune machine would cry foul

You’d have a wonderful time cruising around in a LaF Coupé, LaF Aperta or 599 SA Aperta, just like your least favorite F1 driver sometimes does in his spare time with some of his Southern California-based automotive fleet.

As always you try to distract from the original theme as you are obviously unable to give proper arguments...
The theme was that it was said that Lewis only lost the championship because of a single DNF which is simply not true.. furthermore it was ignored that Nico had bad luck before as well... you have ZERO answers on that, instead you repeat this drivel about who said he is the greatest all over again like a broken record and like a brainwashed member of a sect, yet you ridicule other people's posts...I really don't know what you are doing on this website if you do not have interest in seeing other people's opinion anyway. And it is telling that always the very same two people like your posts no matter how meaningless they are as long as they state how great LH44 is.. yet the mods think you are not here for trolling...

The rules of F1 are simple enough.

He who accumulates the most points, wins.

The racing gods always play a part in each WCC and WDC.

In terms of outright speed Rosberg and Hamilton were very tight, sharing equal number of front row starts in the dominant Mercedes.
