    BTW, brown or white rice? I whipped up a batch of brown rice in shrimp broth for the pooch last weekend. She loved it added to her kibble...T

    My wife read somewhere that brown rice is better for the dogs, so she recently switched.

    It's a pain to have to simmer it for close to an hour, so I'm thinking of switching to an overnight soak. Reportedly, this also helps reduce arsenic levels in the rice...T

    I don't cook stuff for my dog. I buy beef liver from a meat packing place. I feed him the liver raw. Dogs systems are designed for raw meats, etc. Even chicken.

    Ok. You tell her then. I'm blue in the face!!! Actually, she knows it, but is a creature of habit. I think it helps her overcome the empty nest- baby is a senior in college.

    Crock pot pulled pork with (diabetic) homemade BBQ sauce tonight. Vinegar based, the last time added yellow mustard as a flavor profile to overcome the lack of brown sugar (splenda and sugar free ketchup).

    PS Before my DM I found it funny that after 50+ years I did a 180 and found I preferred Heinz's yellow mustard and French's ketchup to the "original" staples which made them pantry icons.....the old switcheroo,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    My mom is an adult onset type one diabetic. Fortunately she took to the new cook books. More power to you. I am keenly aware how much of a struggle it can be. Keep up the good work.

    Tom don’t miss em. This is all new to me so I’m in poison mode. Why take it if not necessary. Instead of taking away I look at it differently. I start out on Adkins mode and add carbs to balance out my meals.

    I’ve embrace eating well- feel so much better, down 56# since 3/11.

    I didn't feel like going out. Had a jar of Alfredo sauce, so cooked up some linguine and poured that over. Not my best effort.
