If you buy a used car from a party other than a Ferrari dealer, does it still qualify for the extended warranty?

Many dealerships advertise a car that has been through the 101-point inspection and that that would qualify for certified pre-owned. Does that mean that a CPO car qualifies for the extended warranty but a non-CPO car does not?

    Thanks.

I think it would be helpful to include the year and model of the car....

Can you buy the extended warranty before the expiration of the original warranty? The 2018's I have looked at have expirations in 2021.

Is the extended warranty a Ferrari warranty or is it a 3rd party (e.g. like Fidelity for Porsche)?

I am hoping to pick up a low miles well optioned car for about 10% under MSRP. It seems as though that may be overly optimistic. I have only found low mile cars about 3% under MSRP. Am I better off ordering new?

if you have the cash to burn, dont mind waiting, and care about brownie points with a dealer. there is no right answer. 812s will be worth 150k one day. your choice as to when you care to get on the ride. i have a ton of cars and i wldnt pay today's prices for an 812. but if thats the car that makes you tingle then now is the time.

Am I wrong to think that the 812 is the last of the normally aspirated V12s?

Probably not but if ur quest is driven by value it wont matter for 40 years. Thats a long time.

$6k more or less, i had got price quotes from $5800-6400. i think though if purchased through ferrari the 2 year warranty cost $6k or less. there must be some internal pricing they have were their cost is considerably less

Very well could be end of the road for V12s in regular production.

However, no matter what, MY2018/19 are the last to be free of GPF and ADAS nannies.

    ADAS:

note: 812 has HELE which is engine off during idle, and can be disabled, each time you start, that's the only real nanny on 18/19s

Is it reasonable to offer 12% under MSRP for an 2018 with low miles? And ask the Ferrari dealer to include the 2-year power warranty? I would still pay out-of-state transport.

12% off original MSRP or 12% off current asking price of the used 2018? I think you could do more than 12% off original MSRP. All these late model exotics are dropping rapidly. Not taking shots. Just keeping it real. I have a 3 month old $470,367 MSRP 812 that I know is worth at least $100,000 less than I paid for it. It makes no difference to me though, because I plan on keeping it for the next 30-40 years.

Yes, I was referring to the original MSRP, not their current asking price. Did you end up having to pay MSRP for you new car? I have been wondering if a 3-5% discount was even possible which then raises the idea of buying new with exactly the spec I want.

No discount. Built to spec and I waited 20 months to spend full pop on a rapidly depreciating asset. No regrets though, I would happily do it again.

the 2020 model sound may be different with the new filter... but quite a few 812 out there to choose. Have you thought of getting a F12 first before you dive right in at a 812 if this is your first one. or wait for the 812 spyder to come out, then more 812 will be released into used market.

I have considered the F12 but prefer the newer model. I have always assumed car manufacturers make improvements each model year. You bring up an interesting point on the filter and exhaust note. From all the different used ones available I am optimistic in finding one close to what I like. I think some 812s are already on the market in anticipation of those owners being in line for the spider.
