Limited edition to 750 copies or more ? This face lift makes the 812 appealing....and the sound you would hear ? !!! In coupe form, the F12 reigns superior for my sensibilities.

The color of the pictures from cell phones is the car they showed last week. It is named after the car and is a special paint made for the 812 Spyder.

I have mixed emotions about the GTS. Overall, it’s not a bad design but it feels compromised to me. The volumetric size and height of the buttresses isn’t elegant imho. They simply tower over the seats and occupants themselves. A friend sent me the pic below of the Porsche Speedster today. I prefer the size and height of those buttresses. I guess the rear fake window is an attempt to visually lessen the significant sheet metal bulkiness, but it seems like an imperfect solution to a problem that shouldn’t aesthetically exist in the first place. I also really miss the curved slender air intakes found behind the rear side glass on the coupe.

I’m not really drawn to street convertibles even though I prefer open cockpit racecars. I’ll probably skip the GTS and just enjoy our TM coupe which crossed 4,200 miles today. I’m genuinely happy for those who finally received a droptop front-engined V12 Ferrari after years of waiting. It’s nice to have choices.

I hate the “looks like” comparisons, but Viper does come to mind as regards the cut of the window. Alternately, the less flattering comparison of the quarter “window” is a whole host of '70s Fords, like the ’76 Torino or Mustang II, LOL.

Having said that, I really like the cut of the window (retro or not) as it flows very nicely, almost BB 512 style. You can’t argue with nice lines. Unlike the convoluted shape of the hardtop 812 with the Lambo-mimicking “ears” (i.e., scoops) sticking out the behind the quarter windows. The SF's quarter windows, it should be noted, though glass are nevertheless practically blocked by the structure of the B-pillar behind the glass, so not much better that the completely blocked fake windows here.

By removing the puffed out scoops from the 812 S, and instead going with tapering sail panels on the GTS, they have accentuated the rear fender “hips” and so lightened the look of the car at the rear and made it more muscular and curvy. The scalloped detail in the sail panel also helps to lighten up the rear. Question is what is feeding the aft-facing vent ahead of the rear spoiler now that the scoop is gone.

That's not cool, they need to give credit to Mr. Coburn. It was literally grigio coburn color.

Wait until you remind the "Portofino" owners that it is a re-named California! They try to ban you in the forum, NOT kidding. :)
