Tuna looks awesome. I like the kohlrabi fries idea!
Did you fry them or make them in an oven?
I have some turnips in the fridge, you have given me an idea.

Ended up at A&W instead. The Canadian A&W is owned by a Canadian company and has no connection with American A&W. Our menu for the most part is the original 1970's era menu. My Dad was with me. He tried the Beyond Meat burger and liked it.

Do Canadian serve poutine? Gravy with your fries? ;)

BTW, depending on your dad's motivation to go for the Beyond Meat burger, you may wish to check out the nutritional info.

Article out today on the meatless burgers...TLDR is great for saving planet, not great for health. Protein source, non-whole food ingredients, sodium cited as issue.

Reminds me of “vaping is ok for you!” And of course its not.

A few years ago I made a point of trying to avoid food that looked like it came out of a 55 gallon drum. Makes no sense to me like non alcoholic beer or wine.........

She roasted them in the oven, sprinkled with chili powder and cumin. Not bad.

Our moose pretty much stand around and you can walk right up to them (albeit that is unadvised!). A hunt here would take about 5 minutes, 4 of which were spent getting your gear outta the car. You would have be to a good shot to avoid spearing a selfie-taking Asian tourist though.

All of my neighbors hunt in Wyoming. And, being neighborly, they give me some meat from time to time. I got and tried moose once..........once.

    Elk? "Heck yeah."

    Deer? "Sure."

    Buffalo? "You bet."

Moose? "I couldn't possibly take some of your hard-earned kill. Thank you though for thinking of me."

I’d made Bison flank steak and orange corn grits. Then, as I was finishing, my wife walked in with pork tacos and rice,

Okay, back on track...with a few pics from dinner at arguably the best restaurant in the state, Snake River Grill in Jackson Hole. Their fish dishes have been French Laundry or Le Bernardin quality the past couple of years.

The other night we had a starter of lobster with a bit of caviar on potatoes and romanesco puree. Then I had halibut with mushrooms, green beans and buerre blanc sauce. She had salmon on top of beets and potatoes with horseradish creme fraiche. All were fantastic...we are going back next week one final time before leaving Wyoming for London at the end of the month.

I'm heading to central Washington State with my Dad. We have property with an old gold mine. Over seven miles of tunnels in a mountain. The show Gold Rush has a spinoff called Gold Rush: Dave Turin's Lost Mines. They are filming our mine this weekend.

    show info here: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9703198/

We'll probably stop off at Burger King. I want to try the impossible Whopper.

By coincidence, I was at Kroger replenishing our stock of yogurt, and I happen to notice these.

$5 for 2 quarter lb burgers. $10/lb if my math is righteous.

Next to it was this. $9 for 6 one-third lb burgers. $4.5/lb. So a 2x premium for the veggie burger.

Anyhoo. Saturday night, so we ventured off to another small town VFD fish fry. Bowie, Texas.

Loaded up on fries. They were OK. Shoulda got more fish! Whomever they had frying it up knew what they were doing. A couple packets of Texas Pete hot sauce.

I think this dude was a pro. Fast talker! I scratched my ear & almost bought 10 round bales of horse-grade hay.
