Doing my final spec, the F8 CF dash has a large area of CF. I currently have Matt spec’d but have not seen the Matt look in person. I’ve seen the gloss CF on other cars (812, 488 etc and thought it looked nice) So what are the opinions on interior CF? Matt or gloss? For those that have seen the launch F8’s with matt CF what did you think? Thanks in advance.

Standard gloss finish no additional cost. To do matt finish on all interior CF surfaces is a $4219 option charge.

I saw the matte finish and it does not pop. I much prefer the look of the gloss and that is how I ordered it.

Thanks for your reply, that was my concern. The gloss CF seems to have a much richer look, I especially like it better on the back of the race seats. My only concern was that it may have too much gloss for such a large area of the dash insert.

I prefer the gloss carbon as well. Did it on my Pista. Made no sense to spend 4 grand on what I felt was an inferior surface.

    My 2 cents:

-Matte looks cheap, it doesn’t pop, seems aftermarket/inferior.

    - Gloss: perfect.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

I also did gloss carbon on my Pista. I know the trend is to go with matt, but I like the contrast with the Alcantara.

Gloss, easier to clean and gives a subtle touch of luxury to a sports iteration within a luxury brand.

Personally I prefer matte finish. True, it doesn't have that in-your-face "we got carbon fiber baby!" look, but in the 812's I've seen, they did matte and it looks very subtle and elegant - at least I think it does. I had matte finish on my Yamaha R1 carbon wheels and loved them. Same with the intake air runners. Girls seem to love matte finish more over men. I've had a few women comment on how much they liked several parts on my motorcycle that were done in matte carbon.

It's definitely a personal preference. The matte looks super nice with alcantara also.

Speaking of spec'ing cars, it's always worth mentioning that black stitching up on the dash board doesn't reflect into the windshield when driving :)

    Rob,

    Congrats, it looks very nice.

Trust me, if that’s what you like, it’ll never get old or boring.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

I did the same wheels and RC. Went for the Racing Carbon seats w/Alcantara inserts, black with red stitching and accents. All CF .

for real, where is the carbon fiber? I can't see it. is it the dash?

I have seen matte CF, at first I thought it was plastic...

but hey, if you like it, get it.

    Nothing boring there!

With your spec, glossy carbon fiber all the way! :)

I believe I read somewhere that that Matt finish carbon is actually lighter than gloss finish.
If that is the case, it might add to a more race inspired spec.

I love your humor! Also red paint is always faster in Ferrari or Porsche.

I think for special series track focused cars like Pista, TDF, and speciale matte would look great...more racier like the challenge cars, and matte looks great with alcantara. But on the F8 I would do gloss. I love my gloss carbon interior....full dash, center, and door panels. The carbon on F8/488 and etc are just to touch up the interior...its not like its a full carbon dash like Enzo's and Sesto...I think gloss would be the way to go.
