Took the Mondi out today. 3rd gear seemed a little off as in the shifter didn't seem to come as close to me as previously. But it drive fine, noise free. Doubting my observation rowing thru all the gears seemed ok. Later on I couldn't shift into 5th. It did just minutes earlier. Tried few more times but alas can't shift into 5th at all. The throw stops movement right after it moves into its "Lane"

So could it be the bushings have moved, linkage loosened up?

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend!

Have you ever changed the shift shaft seals? Refresh my memory... but oil/trans fluid goes from side to the other when the seals go bad. So one can be low while the other is high (engine or trans). What's the oil level at the dipstick?

Just a thought as I recall the same.

Didn't check Wade, but that's a good idea. Yes replaced 8 or so years back when engine was pulled and resealed it. Hope you stay safe and dry in Florida!

Thanks Dave. Just laying low right now, instead of hunkering down. :D

Ok, so found a small black trim screw had fallen in the gated shifter closest to where 5th gear would go. Needle nose pliers to the rescue. Funny looking up at all the similar screws are accounted for.

Good thing that wasn't the landing gear handle. :D

    Any pocket change as well?

Years back my FIL a pilot, tried to convince me to take flying lessons....I pushed back with car racing. It's safer I said!
Alas no change found for the Mondial fund.
