No idea whether or not these are any good, however great condition for age....
They make better aeroplanes than the French....So I assume the engineering is good....Looks space age for its day....Not bad....Good size....
They're a great piece of kit, huge turbo lag. Saab cars are no longer so parts will be a problem at some stage. Some horrendous labour is involved with some parts replacement. I had the earliest version,99 Turbo...loved it until it started breaking down and the earliest 9 series didn't have P/steer and were as heavy as a Mack Thermodyne! Total rocketship in the day and frightened the puck out of anything including 308's with the engine in the back......not the GM type with the engine in the front. This thing has an humongous pricetag so it'd want to be the very best. There is this one for half the price but also with truckloads spent and it's in your backyard. http://classifieds.nswsaab.club/view.php?adcode=201788

Agreed, but the gold star for turbo lag was the Audi 200 5T from about 1980. Luckily, I'm sure they're all gone, after head on accidents whenever the hapless owners pulled out to overtake, put their foot down and nothing happened for 10 seconds. Then the moment they gave up and pulled back in, the turbo would finally arrive and lunge the car forward.
take an Opel Vectra hatchback, lop the roof off and stick Saab badges on - Voila! you have a Saab convertible and can charge twice as much for it
True, but I still maintain the old Aussie added Turbo 2.6 Sigma was the king of turbo lag. It did nothing until 3500 revs, then BANG, your eyeballs were pushed to the back of your skull. I loved it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All the factory Mitsubishi Sigma Turbos were 2 litres. Later, there were quite a few aftermarket 2.6 litre Turbo Scorpions and some Sigmas built by specialists that were very quick for the day.
I always thought they were a pretty good looking thing back in the day. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
