Math Time - (am I doing this right?)

    Lewis averaging 5th place points* for the next 6 races = 60 + 296 = 356
*Conservativly assuming 2 DNF’s and four 3rd place finishes, or six 5th place finishes.

    Seb with 6 wins = 150 + 194 = 344

    Charles with 6 wins = 150 + 200 = 350

    Max with 6 wins = 150 + 200 = 350

Bottas is the only man mathematically alive and we saw team orders today show that he will not be allowed to race for the title.

Seb went through the 1st chicane during the out lap on his run, then the second run was a complete disaster.

If Elton somehow had 2 DNFs things could get dicey! Other than that, the WDC has been over since the Great Canadian Robbery of 2019.

Ferrari did nothing wrong and nothing against him. That's the way it went today.

Yeah the numbers game :) The maximum pts Charles can score from now is: 6 wins + 6 fastest-lap points :D = 156 pts. Charles would finish with the same amount of points as Jamilton (356) and same count of victories (8 till then).

    PS
Somebody show this post to Hamilton so he cannot sleep all nights ;-)

We can debate the order the first and second placed Ferraris finished, but what a luxury !
Let's just remember the low points go this year.
Some were predicting terminal decline and possibly years before we were winning again.
Now we have three on the trot and this convincing 1-2.
Hats off to everybody at Scuderia Ferrari for pulling together and turning it round.
Well done in particular to Mattia (you know, the" technical guy") for outstanding leadership.
    Really remarkable team performance.
    Forza !

He has shown at times that he can be quicker than elton. If he showed more consistency, then maybe mercedes wouldn't treat him like a puppet.

Maybe he should call Rosberg for some advice :D

Super stoked for a long-absent Ferrari 1-2 but how the 1-2 placed should serve as embarrassment to Ferrari strategy. How can you let your pole sitter be compromised like that?!

Only logic I see is that the team felt obligated to gift Seb a win through a race that was fully in their control.

Okay, I stand corrected, I guess.
I didn't hear that on the ESPN/Sky feed. I might have missed it, or the feed might have.
(Or the Sky guys might have talked over it. ;))

"Another F1 win decided by pit stop strategy, excuse me if I don’t explode in eulogies"

"the teams knew the power of the undercut on this circuit, and LeClerc was quoted as saying that he followed the strategy that was agreed BEFORE the race.
Was he nobbled? who knows, but it wouldn't have been the first time."

"As for the circuit, if they are going to persist with these street circuits, why not introduce 3-point turns and parallel parking to the event - and speed loading/unloading of grocery."

True and Lec somehow got in his head that the his the #1 in the team and they should do his bidding. :( Getting an LH44 "Diva" vibe from Lec and that is not good...........

Unfortunately, he'll probably still win with even 6 DNFs., though that would be fun to watch. Calling the Haas guys, Stroll to crash him and maybe Vettel to spin and actually take someone else out.

My young grasshopper....... Mercedes and LH44 DO NOT need to win for the rest of the season to secure both championships and 1-2 in the driver's championship. They just need to keep imposing team order to guarantee that Bottas remains behind LH44.

Really? On what basis? He qualified fastest and led every lap until the "strategists" took over, and then wouldn't let him race for position. Who do they think he is...Bottas?

Edit: Also leads VET in WDC points.

Disturbing to see that even when Vettel won fair and square, there still are some Scuderia "fans" that need to undermine his victory.........

True! but some Scuderia "Fans" still seem to think that he was gifted the win. :( It seems that they have been conditioned into believing now that Lec is the only Scuderia driver who deserves to win a race.

They DID, but Rosberg defied the orders and thankfully won the 2016 Championship and retired, leaving LH44 mentally broken. Remember that is was not until Baku 2017, when he got a lucky win that he got his confidence back. In the first races of the 2017 he looked and drove like a defeated man.

You hit the nail in the head! That's when we all realized that the FIA and Mercedes would to anything to secure LH44 a championship.

Yes. These recent victories would not have happened with Seb. He would have somehow managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Charles has a blindingly bright future at Ferrari. Seb, not so much. And it's a shame, because he could have won in the past (more than 3 years ago) with a good enough car. Now he has a good enough car, but no longer the mental edge to beat Elton.
