I've had confirmation from several dealers that both Ferrari and the dealer have a list of people they want to have an allocation for a certain car.
With any new V12 model you need to have at least the obvious V12 in your order history. Regarding an 812GTS allocation, 812 coupe owners get first dibs as well as high profile collectors.

It also seems obvious that dealers in different regions all have differnet allocation requirements. I have not heard any Lusso requirement to get a Pista/812 with my dealers.
Demand outweighs supply in various regions, so the 812GTS will be limited in terms of production space and thus Ferrari has the luxury, in those markets, to choose their customers. Which sounds pretty logical to me.

I accused my dealer of capturing me in his revolving door scheme and he just smiled.

Truthfully a front engine V12 convertible is the one I've always aspired to, like from high school time, the ultimate muscle car. The GTS epitomizes the line-straddling balance of refined engineering and performance with a California free spirit. It's THE icon.

    confirmed deposit BTW ;)

It seems to be taking a long time for dealers to confirm allocations for the GTS, at least in the UK. Have people heard back about theirs?

The first batch of invited U.K. customers have been allocated and deposits paid (£35k!) to secure those cars. My dealer expects those cars to start being delivered late Q3/Q4 2020.

I assume that Ferrari will see what global uptake there has been so far and then allocate further slots according to availability.

I have been told that there could be less than 2 years of GTS production so It will be interesting to see if they ramp up production levels to meet demand? Talk is of about 150/160 cars in the U.K. which doesn’t seem like that many?

I see most F12, for about 15-20% off with 1500 miles. I’m not sure if you will see 812s go for half off, but you can always hope...the 599 was a bigger hit as it was much much less desirable than the F12 in all aspects. The 812 compared to the F12, is night and day improvement, so I’d expect a greater retained value.

    Not exactly. Just bought $378k '15 F12 w/1200 miles at 30%+ off. So, 4 yrs + 1200 miles = $115k discount.

But once the replacement is announced, then the cycle will repeat. The only demon we have to deal with is our lack of patience and the urge to get the newest toy.

There will always be variances, perhaps the ones I see at the 5 dealers in the metro NY area, are heavily equipped and 10 % more than you paid...anyhow rejoice in the fact that you are now in possession of one of the best road going Ferrari’s ever built. I love the 812, but I really miss my 2016 F 12 a fantastic ride.

Same, as of yesterday! It gives me a bit of a problem though. My 812 is TM, still not arrived. Won’t likely keep both and will order a more standard spec for the spider. If I like the spider more than the coupe I TM’d the wrong car!
