Well, I'm prejudice because my 512 tr is an euro model, but I cant't understand why euro models are worth less. The only down side is the speedometer. The upsides are many, the least of which is the lack of the mouse seat belt. More power, better fog lights, lack of the side lights, not 100% sure but my euro car has no catalytic converters either. Maybe it is supply and demand, as there are approximately 500 US 512 tr and 1500 euro 512 tr's. Given the chance to purchase 2 identical 512's, one being an euro model, I know what my choice would be! :)

If you follow 308 sales, the euro 308 are generally worth significantly more than us models. That is based generally on aesthetics!

I would try and get a good deal on the black 512tr in Santa Cruz with weak service history. They are asking 145k or best offer. I would go look at the car and throw them an offer if the car checks out. 90-95k

Doubt they'll even entertain that offer. When people slap unrealistic price tags on things like that all they are doing is keeping real buyers from picking up the phone. Why bother calling when the ask and the market sell is that far apart LOL.

Limited audience or not none of them have sold well on there. There are a lot of views for each listing though so I’m not sure it’s that limited; BaT did better than the dealer (Tom) did for over 12months with the car on consignment which is: sell it...granted the seller might have changed also his expectations because last year when I offered 150k they said 160k. This particular car was first at 215k, then 175k —/sold 125+5k... talking about a disconnection between asking and selling prices.
I found that fchat was the easiest way to sell my tr (less than a month) and with genuine good guys showing passion and interest.Id not put on
Bat -most Testarossa on there seem to barely crack 90k in average and the last 512 been around 125-130k

Nope- it’s my dream one but I think 200vs250 ask might be a stretch!

As a TR lover myself, I think the market has returned back to the old days where the car is not an investment and the only joy ownership is driving them.

I am in the market and always looking.

The red 512TR that sold here was a good one, I made her a great offer with all risks considered, she got someone to pay her price.

Motivated Sellers, Please keep me in mind and PM. 1990-1991 for Testarossa . or any year on 512TR.

I don't have to ask my wife if I can buy it. I don't have to call my bank for a loan.

My Motivation is Condition, color & price.

Well, no one has messaged me for mine...so mileage is a big factor....even if reflected in the asking price.

I told you, you would be back! :) Did you every buy that Bentley coupe? That was a phenomenal car but a yawn in the excitement factor when compared to the TR :) And if you still fancy one of those, get a Phaeton VW, it's the same car (less sytlish) but better.

That's my point. I have it priced well below the average. Mileage is the obviously biggest factor.
In my case, you can rule out condition, major service and records. What's left is miles. So from a valuation point of view, drive it and enjoy it...but don't expect to sell it lol

I think it just adds a good data point to this thread.

@Shamile - Float it on eBay with a reserve and see what it gets bid up to for a snapshot gauge of the market for an atypical example like yours.

Good idea. I was thinking of going the Ebay route but wanted to sell it to a fellow enthusiast here.

I don’t think u should expect more than 65k... I know it hurts but might be the price.... that being said u might more as a trade in...or enjoyment with the girls;)

Don't fall into the trap and think that all the Ferrari enthusiasts are on Fchat. Lots of buyers and enthusiasts are not into car forums and probably have a much more open mind to buying a car like yours. Honestly some of the views/perspectives on buying/selling/owning that are expressed on this and other specialty forums are down right flakey IMO.

Keep in mind forum enthusiast tend to be on the more extreme side of the spectrum (yes I am one of them) and hardly represent the entire market at large.

    Good points!

I guess I'm guilty of being in the fchat bubble! lol

Funny thing is I go to a once a month Ferrari/ Lamborghini gathering that started from fchat and most exotic cars guys on my fb migrated from here lol

I believe in market forces so I won't argue that valuation. But at that point, do you sell it for that just for space in the garage? lol

You have a very nice WELL SORTED car. Don't give it away for free and regret it just to free up garage space.

The entire market is sideways and nothing is selling quickly right now unless it is priced at WHOLESALE. It seems the guys that would have bought your car a decade ago are buying kalis as their first Ferrari currently. The disruption of cheap kalis to the market has taken a lot of interest away from the legacy Ferraris. The same goes for cheap 360s, 355s, etc.

The mileage on your car doesn't bother me at all. I see a lot of people trying to buy strictly on low entry prices. I don't see anything for sale that offers as much as your car does at the price point. Give it time before you drop your pants. GLWS.

Yes more than likely but I would try anyway and tell him about recent sales on comparables. You have nothing to lose. I guarantee no one else is calling him, that’s the classic part. With a no service history good luck. He’s going to get a low ball offer that’s it I can promise you that. Not to mention the market is soft right now which is good for buyers.

As they say..."timing is everything " Now is not the time to be a seller it seems. Ok, all very good points made. I'm leaving the price as is. If it sells, fine. If not fine.

    ....and thanks for chiming in.

    Well I’d keep it!
U know I keep over now 100 sales over the course of 2 years now so I provide u tangible actual sales.
U are now on the other side: when u own u think it’s undervalued but then u try to sell it u are seeing what u are seeing it.
When I put mine on eBay I had several low offers and offers from Russia lol Not great.
With eBay u can do a search and check with the righ filters what the cars have been bid to and what the buy it now was for instance.
Some other members may disagree but at this stage I’d like to think I kinda guess the prices right.

Keep it. There is that member whom I forgot the name of who bought his at auction well over 100k, spent a lot to fix it; got a 599 and Ferrari gave him 70k for it. Mine as a trade was 80-85k; I sold it more on here. U can always try barret Jackson who sold very well this year ...but guess what ,that 86 fusion motor bought for over 115k and is trying to flip at 160k...hasn’t moved one bit...
