Sadly I don’t really care where the market goes; as I said I’m just a spreadsheet custodian . I am looking forward to seeing the 205k flying mirror sale on the site Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No apologies for owing and putting 73,000 miles on my 91 Testarossa as daily driver. We can be big fans of the car and enjoy it for what it is. It still doesn't mean we drink koolaid and are blind to the numbers. As I posted, my car ticks all the boxes except miles....yet, since I haven't sold mine as of yet, that, as it would seem is the preeminent factor in the value of the car. Would I have driven it less? ...umm, nope and no regrets. ....and while sounding like a broken record, it's the last of the mechanical Ferraris and will stand the test of time. You will still be able to put this car on the road in 20 years....no unobtainable computer modules. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
If you want a cheap 355, why not pick up a mint 348 for half the price and modify it. I’ve been looking more and more into this option as a play car. twin turbo, remove slats, new suspension, wheels, brakes. TB models sell for $45k and theyre all gated. Whats not to love?
I think you need to be more patient with your 355 search. Maybe wait for winter. I've had 2 and the first I bought when the market was at the top and they were selling like hotcakes. I thought they were going to be the next 360 and I didn't want to miss out but that didn't happen. Besides valve guides, headers and cats, I don't think they have any other issues outside of "normal" Ferrari issues. Not sure about TRs being cheaper to maintain, though. I dreamed of having a a Testarossa and if they're cheap enough again maybe one day I'll do it but after having the 355, I'm mostly done with engine outs. I drive my cars a lot and the maintenance adds up. I think that's one of the main reasons why you see many of these cars going back down, you have so many other options for the money, you have to be a bit of a masochist to wish engine outs upon yourself.
i see tr prices soft right now but they are gonna be the next classic exotic shoot up in value especially the clean no story examples ,great time to be a buyer large selection to choose from
I don’t get the engine out concern. I’ve had my 512tr over five years. Completely reliable just changing fluids. I’ll do the belts at 7 years. So engine out amounts to about $1500/yr. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
The engine out concern is very simple, it's $$$ to most people. Also, how many miles have you put on your car in those 5 years?
It's running around in circles. I would suspect that the engine-out service on a Countach is no less expensive. The fundamental issue is numbers. Approx. 10,000 for the various iterations of the Testarossa vs approx. 2000 for the Countach. Couple in the "old-school" driving vs that of a 355 and up. I would love to own a 250 GT Lusso, but not to drive in heavy traffic. On the plus side, just darn glad I bought my TR before I couldn't afford it
It's a great car and it's very reliable. But after 16 years of ownership and everytime I have a Lamborghini in the garage, I instinctively go and drive that one. I'm going down to one car and that car is a Lamborghini.....that's just me. I mention the 20 years on the road as that pulls future valuation to the present. Why put your money into something disposable. A Testarossa can be a future proof purchase. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Saw this car that recently sold for $130k on BaT on a lift at my local independent repair shop today while dropping off my car. They surprisingly, had four (4) 512TRs and a TR simultaneously on the floor (including my car) in the shop for work. The owner and I jokingly said it was 512TR day for the shop and discussed the BaT sale and reason for low sale price (seller just wanted to move on). The shop said it was being exported to Brazil. So one less in the US, even though it was an import.
2 hours to go On The Ron tonkin TR with 9k miles, currently 86k stock exhaust,2015 major. Asking price with luggage was 135k. I say 110k ...reserve...met? Not sure... Id love to see if that black flying mirror at 205k will ever sale and if so at what price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I may have my share of « haters » but I did call 110k. Roughly 25% off the asking price. Well bought... market seems to Adjust to a good 20-30k mile example now being at 90-94k no longer 100k. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
