Too bad that "very nice guy" destroyed the carreer and almost killed of a trully gifted driver, and he did it because he was a careless idiot that should have been behind a desk instead of a race car.

Yes, just like 19 other guys on the grid.

And, despite still not liking Stroll and disagreeing with several points made, thanks for taking the time to explain your point of view. It's always nice to see things from a different perspective.

Some interesting discussion on a potentially emotive subject.

Personally I don’t care in the slightest that his daddy is rich and bought him a team. We have always had and always will have people buying F1 seats; and the same in any other series.

Agree he got the points for his super licence and holds his own at the back of the field. I’ll admit he even has flashes of brilliance.

The reason I dislike stroller is how he threw Williams under the bus when he was there. Disgraceful behaviour in my book, and just showed an immature spoilt brat, not a professional racing driver trying his best to help his team develop and progress.

Still ultimately it’s up to the team owners to decide who they “hire”. Unfortunately at the moment, given Perez performance, stroll is doing the team out of points as the car can clearly get up there. Personally I don’t think he will be there long if this firm keeps going; but time will tell.

Still, he gives us somebody to take pot shots at, justified or not.

    This.
I couldn't care less about his background, I don't just like the guy's attitude. All interviews he sound a bit arrogant, and the way he ask the pits to tell him about the car, showing lack of awareness.... To be positive, he is less dislikeable than Grosjean

He dissed Massa. Then he whined after Massa was booted that no one was with the team that could help him anymore.

I cannot see anything wrong with that.

That's capitalism in its purest form: you buy what you want if you can afford it !

Seems a long time ago that Stroll put the Williams on the front row alongside Lewis,in the wet,at Monza.

Yes he was helped with penalties for a couple of others ,even so you do need a lil bit of talent to do that.

Yeah, it's fine. If daddy wants to throw his money around, Stroller adds some comic relief at times. His pot calling vettel black team radio at Monza hilarious (thankfully no one hurt).

I'd rather see more talented drivers on the grid, but right now that's not F1's biggest issue going forward.

Re: capitalism - I wonder how the sales of pink #18 gear rank.

I have to say Lance seems to have raised his game, he has been performing well particularly against his teammate. Perhaps the revised Racing Point is more suited to his driving style than it is to Perez?

Didn't see it all, but I'm confused...Perez hits the wall and gets points, and Stroll finishes and doesn't?

There was some glitch with the timing system so I believe the results are from positions held on lap 52 of the 53 scheduled.

Pretty sure it is that Perez was on the final when he crashed,... stroll was a lap down,... therefore Perez scored ahead.

I was confused too. Stroll showed ahead of Perez, then Perez crashes and in the end he is ahead in the points. WTF? Oh well.

I’m amused to imagine the comments here if the tables were exactly reversed between Perez and Stroll at Suzuka. I can just hear the conspiracy theories of Daddy Stroll payoffs. Then again let’s not forget that the person who bankrolls Perez May not be his dad but could buy Stroll many times over.

For sure, it's a fact that Perez brings a boatload of pesos to the team. Everybody knows that.
