IMO fine art is a pure emotional expression from a single voice. Period. So if there is more than one person involved, and/or there are any restrictions and/or considerations related to commercial exploitation, it is not fine art.

I would never refer the styling/design drawings as 'fine art'. I would however refer to them as 'industrial art'.
Big difference. One is done for the individual with little or no constraints. The other was created to sell/manufacture an industrial product.
Industrial art can be 'artistic', but it was never intended to be art for art's sake.
    Just my $.02.
Coming next year, the Detroit Institute of Arts, a major art museum, is showing for the first time a display of the Automobile as art. And they are going to include sketches and renderings. Historically, art museums have looked down their noses at styling/design art.

The original Bora looks like the Alfa T33/2 Iguana with a Maserati grill from the front.

Coming this November to the Victoria & Albert in London (my favourite museum in the world): Cars: Accelerating The Modern World. As a museum founded to celebrate and promote the applied and decorative arts (or design, as we say today) in the wake of the Great Exhibition of 1851, you can be sure the approach will be anything but condescending.

That Karma looks like a poor Ferrari SP1 Monza ripoff, although still not terrible. Also good to see the Japanese have finally combined their appliance and car design studios together, something I always suspected was already true :)

That car looks like it is 90% belt line and 10% greenhouse.

I happened to see a new 2020 Chrysler Pacifica this morning. We have talked about side sculpting before but Chrysler has taken the side swish to transitioning into the upper rear bumper. IMHO, it came out well. I like it!
