Inserted a different valve shim on front exhaust bank to get the clearance in tolerance range.
I had gone to a WWoC event and when I arrived she was leaking coolant like a sieve out the front of the car: either the radiator which was recently recored or possibly the lower hose. Sent it out to Bradan. Got a call from Bradan today- was a cut hose. apparently I went over something (I can only think speed bump) that caused the lower nose to rub against the chasis and cut it. Thankfully it wasn't the radiator. She comes home tomorrow in time for the autumn drives in Bear Mountain
Dropped my car off to have the leather cleaned and nourished which I see to every few years. Surprised even with seemingly very clean seats and wheel how much dirt still comes off. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I installed the steering wheel hub extender from Ricambi. https://www.ricambiamerica.com/collections/hill-engineering/steering-wheel-spacers/sws02b-50mm-steering-wheel-spacer.html What a HUGE difference it made in the driving comfort and position for me. Took about ten minutes to install. Wish I had done it years ago.
A great improvement. Moves steering wheel closer to you and increases leg to wheel clearance. Minimizes chance of hitting dash with finger nails, watch, or rings. I am 6' 1"'. Enjoy it!
Took it for an early morning drive out to see my new house. Weather is almost getting cold enough in Texas to enjoy the roof off!
I DROVE today, too! Getting chilly in Montana. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh - I think I'll be good. I flew to the DR through MSP 3 years ago in January - landed in MSP wearing shorts and a polo and it was -15 outside - I was ok with that
Topped off the gas, checked the tires, and went for drive. Back at home I cleaned the windows..sunny day!!
Started to get some stone chips done - front spoiler off. So I think "Time to upgrade the aircon - let's put on a bigger parallel flow condenser". But of course, might as well upgrade the fans while I'm in there. The air horns could do with a paint, so that was done. You know what, let's pull out the radiator (weighs a ton, BTW) and upgrade to an alloy one. Gee, wouldn't it be good to tilt the radiator forward and put puller fans on? So all the brackets are off, and new ones for the new angled radiator being designed. Now I've just read the electric A/C thread... I'm waaay down the rabbit hole.
I dunno the vertical radiators are "of a time", so I might think that over a long time. I was watching my temps carefully today, and I think mine could well use an R&R, an old fashioned "tanks and rodding" job, they used to call it!
