Nice looking car. Interesting how they refuse to offer (optionally) a manual transmission. The car follows a throwback theme but includes no optional manual box. It’s a kewl modern retro rod. The factory should calculate the cost for the manual transmission and list it as an option. Just charge a boatload of money for the manual. Someone will be happy to order a manual transmission. I can’t imagine to many owners are going to track these to death and are concerned over a tenth of a second.
Today I was lucky and got the chance to spec a Monza SP2 in the aterlier belonging to my local dealer. It was an amazing experience, and I want to share with you guys on what I believe is the perfect spec for such a beautiful car. So here we go It might be controversial with Sabbia over Blu Mirabeau with a contrast TDF-stripe in Grigio Ingrid. But for me, this is it, and I am in love. This is the perfect spec for the Monza. I was inspired by the two tone color schemes "commonly" seen on Vignale-bodied cars from the 1950s. I think it truly compliments the cars elegance and stays true to the homage of earlier barchettas. The 166 MM with chassis number #0300M is a great example. The Sabbia interior was chosen to match with Grigio Ingrid. It creates a seamless line that flows on top of the car and into its cockpit. Seatbelts in 4 point configuration had to be blue as well It keeps the interior interesting, but also contemporary when matched up with a textured rev counter in aluminium. I can agree on black calipers being a bit conservative, but for me it’s necessary in order to keep the attention away from the wheels and instead focus on the beautiful bodywork. The sheilds in these photos are painted, but a total shield delete would be a concidered choice. Why? I think it would make the car more elegant and minimalistic. I also find it more "true" to the history of how the shields was used and on which cars. Anyways, my personal opinion on this is split, and I can't really decide on what I would go for. This car was specced out of pure curiosity and won’t be mine. But if there’s any future SP1 or SP2 customers out there who’s still in the stage of finding the right spec, it would be an honor to see this in reality! Oh, and sorry for the bad photos. I forgot to ask for a PDF Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool spec...Mine is also Blue -it is the Tailor Made Blue of the GTC4 Lusso at the Geneva motor show- with no stripe, Argento Nurburgring cowl behind the driver and Count Prestige leather. Not too far off from your spec in style... I think this car is a work of art and blue suits it incredibly well.I have never ordered a blue Ferrari, but I have zero doubts over this one Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I would love to see some photos as soon as you take delivery, or maybe you have it already? I would love to see a Monza in blue, and your choice of blue must be a magical sight on a car like this. Those clean lines and unbroken shapes deserves a color like yours. I'm not very much into blue, but the Monza, I was blown away.
The last time Ferrari offered a manual, in the California, it sold a grand total of... 5 cars. At any rate, Ferrari is a forward looking company, the manual is a relic.
The California is marketed to a different clientele that places emphasis on convenience, practicality, and driving a user friendly platform. Some of the Cali owners do not have additional exotics available to drive. With some it is their daily driver. The SP1 is a throwback which offers the buyer a somewhat hard-core platform to get their kicks. At least on paper it looks the part. Most of the buyers have multiple exotics and dd’s to choose. Alfred please fetch me the keys for the vehicle in bay # 6. Some of those buyers would be delighted to pay extra funds for a manual transmission. Unfortunately the factory is not taking their wishes into account.
With the Cobra, F40 and 918, one of the few cars I wouldn’t change a thing on aesthetically (apart from a brown steering wheel inside...)
The Monza is based on the 812, a modern technological masterpiece. Asking for a manual is akin to asking for a modern jet fighter with propellers...

Frankly I can't get over those nasty looking plastic buttons in the center console, you'd think they'd spend a little more time on the interior of such a special car and garnish it with better materials, especially when you take the price tag into consideration. Then again, I can't afford one so my opinion is automatically invalid
I fully agree with you, it doesn’t look good on pictures and I can confirm it is not better in the flesh I hope this can be improved through TM, even at huge cost.
