    I’m hoping for a small two seat sports car with a ~650hp V8. More like a baby 812 that could go head to head against the likes of the AMG GTR and Aston Martin Vantage variants. I’ve always thought Ferrari should make a baby front engine sports car.

    And think of the track variant... a smaller, light weight TDF that you could just bash endlessly around a track. That’s a car that would excite me!

    "My date is 14th November, italy Rome!"

    So the 13th is for dealer's and the 14th is for RoW?

    Cali backseat is useless for much more than a 30 lb dog. Or groceries. Drove a Porto and rear seats were not much bigger. A SWB-inspired, 2 seater with a V8, that'd be an interesting proposition.

    I want to have the seats that don't have them.

    then you must choose to use them.

    Think about the 250GT Lusso. It is a two-seater berlinetta, with a large and spacious bench with accommodations for suitcases and bags, pierced by stitching and straps. They might have opted for such a choice, giving a cut as a true GT. Or they may have chosen the simplest and cheapest way and left the two seats already on Portofino. The absence of the folded roof frees up enough space in the luggage compartment

    Yes, staying portofino 2 + 2, maybe I prefer this one to be two seater...

    That way, would be 2 GT two seaters (812 & this) and 2 "GT" of 4 seats (portofino & fuv)

    My future scheme:

    Sportcar
    • F8 (v8) --> F171-V6H
    • Sc90 stradale (V8H)
    GT (two-seater)
    • F169 Portofino GT (v8) --> V6H
    • 812 (v12) --> Elegant GT V12
    Utility cars (2+2)
    • Portofino (v8) --> V6H
    • GTC4Lusso (v12) --> Fuv (v12?)

    The 812 is not in the GT segment of cars. It is in the sportscar segment with the F8 and SF90. Seeing that the LB V6 will replace the F8 eventually around 2021 from what I've been told, I believe that this will be placed in the GT segment along with the Lusso and Porto etc.

    Sí, está bien, es un GT radical que juega en lugares deportivos, pero es un GT. Para mí 812 no es un GT confortable, es un GT radical.

    El nuevo v12 GT probablemente no sea un GT radical como ahora el 812. Las regulaciones de emisiones lo impedirán. Entonces será un GT cómodo.

    The Superfast a front engined supercar, not a GT. It's sharper than an rear-mid engined Aventador! The GTC4 is a GT, although a sporty one.

    This.

    It might be front engined, but it's one hell of a fun sportscar. In some aspects a 488 feels more GT like than an 812.

    No car has made me smile and laugh as hard as the 812 has, in years.

    Have you actually driven an 812? Have to ask, because I simply can't follow your train of though here.

    The 812 is great machine a real front-mid-engined supercar. The only problem it might have is that it is kind of a compromise. It isn’t as sporty as it could be being rear-mid-engined and it isn’t as elegant as it could be without the need for the great aerodynamics for a real supercar.

    What is the first expected application for the V6?

    This PF coupe would be an ideal application for the V6, I think - especially if a strict 2-seater. A lighter weight V6 set farther aft in the chassis would yield a better weight distribution than a V8 and a lower overall weight, so amplifying the performance of the potent V6.

    Since all Ferraris are rear heavy already, I don't see how this would work. It shouldn't make much of a difference going from, say, 47-53% to 44-56%. In a front heavy car, what you are saying would make a lot of sense.

    Since it appears to be a V8 Portofino coupe, not a V12, perhaps this thread should be renamed or merged with Portofino one...in correct FChat section, no?

    btw this is what I received together with a call
    it will be a Gala dinner starting from 6 pm and seems to be organized on three days 13-14-15

    Don't think anybody expected it to be that. It is simply just a moniker used as long as it does not have a name.

    Any good guesses folks? Not seeing Dino as a possibility as that would be much more fitting to the LB V6.

    Since they’ve used names of leisure destinations for the convertible variants; California and Portofino, perhaps they’ll continue that scheme and name it after an area, and since it’s debuting in Rome perhaps it’s somewhere close to the debut site. Just some guesses.

    Indeed.
    I don't think they would choose Rome if it was not significant to the name. But boy am I lost on that one. Had they only launched it in Brecia it would have been a no-brainer:D

    Yeah, but I honestly don't think that's significant enough. Had they named it that, they would most likely have launched in Brescia.

    Hi guys, my two cents: "DolceVita" could be the name of the Portofino Coupè. It reminds to Fellini's movies and Via Veneto (street related to Dolce Vita) is very close to the most important Ferrari's dealer in Rome (less than 1 mile)
