    On. Think I'm caught up!

I did Philly cheese steaks. Had a coupon for Albertson's plus they had a buy one get one sale, so I got some thin sliced beef. Thought it was rib eye, turned out to be chuck steak when I got home and looked closer. ☹️ the steak wasn't as thin as I thought either. ☹️☹️

OK, so seared it up with salt and pepper, some onions and Cajun spice. The sandwich had good chew, I'll give it that much.

Change of plans. Don't have to go down to the states. We'll do the noodle place tomorrow. My brother is over watching football. We are making ribs. Should be done soon...…...………

Taste was very good. Wife raved. Sauce was good; still a bit tart but not as much as first attempt thanks to a bigger sprinkle of sugar per your original post.

Yeah, color is a bit lighter than what I've seen online. Wife commented the same. Maybe I need to use a heavier pan so I can put more heat on the chicken, get more Maillard reaction going? I also used a mix of olive oil and butter to do the initial browning of the chicken. So, perhaps need more butter?

No way! I'm a scientist. My day job is all numbers and precision and reproducibility. So, my cooking is generally winging it when it comes to ingredients and quantities. Otherwise it would seem like work...T

It does look quite missing in the picture doesn't it! When the steak was done in that pan on the right i dropped half a block of shredded cheese in it and let it melt. The picture does not do it justice! But more cheese next time :)

The local pub has two specials nights we go to; tuesday is steak and beer or wine for 7.30 pounds. Pretty good and good value. This was a couple of nights ago. Ania went with their mushroom risotto with chicken for 5.50 pounds. London is obviously expensive, so it’s sorta fun to find a bargain.

Tonight is fish and chips night, pics to come later :)

Had a dentist appointment at 4:30pm. Ended up getting tuna and salmon sashimi with chopped scallop rolls for lunch. Net I don't feel like going out for noodles. Besides boxing on tonight. I'm cheating and making Kirkland pesto over linguine noodles for myself, brother and dad. Pictures when its done.

    Good looking ribs, Max.
When we were kids, mom would make Mac and Cheese very infrequently. It was a great though when she did. The stuff with the glow in the dark cheese powder. Yum.

    Behold mega dosa!
    Image Unavailable, Please Login .

Had to drive a visitor to the airport. So, we stopped at some place recommended by Yelp.

That's about a yard long dosa. Super thin. Nice crust. Of the 3 dipping sauces, the one on the right was fire cracker hot. But good!

It was very tasty. Never had one before, but had seen it on YouTube videos and always wanted to try.
Had a filling of what looked like potatoes, peas, spices.
The middle dipping sauce was peanut, or so I was told. It was good when the taste buds were burning from the hotter dipping sauce.
Per the lady behind the counter, they usually stop making dosas @ 5 PM - we were there a little nit after - but the cook whipped up one for
myself & one for my visitor.
So, major shout out to Curry's Indian Cafe in Flower Mound, TX!

Not as good as homemade, but as you say, Kirkland pesto is pretty good for store bought...T

I find most Kirkland brand products to be top notch. We made apple and cherry juice for awhile. The product was in Costco. It was a refrigerated product. Costco would take the temp before excepting delivery. If it was one degree above their specification, they'd reject the entire load. They marked each bottle, so you couldn't redeliver the same product. Costco is nuts about quality on all the products they sell. Hence I like Costco. Our product was in Whole Foods, they didn't care at all.
