I think this is what really killed him Dr Omar Awan’s death occurred in February when his car allegedly swerved across three lanes of traffic and over a median strip before hitting trees and bursting into flames, a police report stated.
R&T Performance car of the year....Hyundai Veloster N...... so much for the C8 https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-comparison-tests/a29640493/2020-performance-car-of-the-year/
Bizarre - I read the article and came to a different conclusion. My favourite comment about the Hundy: "The engine has all the character of an ink-jet printer" Having said that, I think Chev have made a mistake not offering a manual trans in the C8. The market is waking up to the reality of driver engagement at road speeds vs. ultimate lap times on the track.
I don't agree with you about the transmission. My opinion is modern car, modern gearbox. Has Ferrari, McLaren and Lamborghini etc made a mistake too?
In short yes. I think it's also about economics, very hard to justify the engineering effort of integrating modern chassis and diff electronics for the 20% of buyers who want a manual. Most people who buy exotic sports cars don't have the skills to drive them at anything beyond 8/10ths (if that) hence the need for electronic nannies. Meanwhile, what the buyer really wants is an auto that's easy to drive, but also has an impressive Fiorano or Nurburgring lap time for bragging rights.
I think Ian is right as far as average persons driving abilities. I’ve seen the drivers, on the track, of these new ultra fast cars. Nearly all of the ones I’ve been on track with need all the bloody help they can get. They are just super cashed up and like cars. On the other hand, if a driver wants the visceral experience, they buy an earlier model, in a manual. End of story. The older cars are harder, more involving, and take much more skill to drive at pace. In my opinion, THAT’S the reward for driving these cars. Where the F can we drive these modern cars anywhere their limits anywhere. Most stay on city streets with the occasional mountain ‘drive’. They prefer the auto, a/c and reliability of the new cars. Not that I wouldn’t want one mind you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I do...I'd rather have a manual CS , Scud , Speciale , Pista , F12 TDF ( all the proper modern F cars ) in manual....I know a lot of others who feel the same....
That thing is just...wow. I hate chasing horse and I get a clear spot where I can talk into the uhf about how quick we are, and he says he hasn’t noticed, he’s been busy updating his Facebook page....... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
