There's a big gulf in price and perception between the mostly clinical-German Porsche 911 / Merc GT / BMW M8 segment, and entry supercars like 488, Huracan, McLaren sport series, etc. In the middle there's really only Aston playing in that space of having a sense of occasion and specialness. Or Maserati, but who would go near the ancient GranTurismo (and Maser brand as a whole is pretty tainted), and Bentley GT feels like a truck to someone coming out of a sports car. Portofino is still unfairly tarnished with perception of being "soft" and so makes a slightly awkward entry point to the Ferrari brand. So makes perfect sense to have a sports-car entry point to the Ferrari brand, a la Dino. And not everyone likes the more flamboyant mid-engine 488/F8, so a subtler front-engine sports car might also pick up some buyers who could afford a 488/F8. Pricing will be interesting -- obviously won't be cheap but hopefully they keep it somewhat reasonable (e.g. no more than DB11 V8 and below Portofino) to make it an achievable step up for owners of 911, V8 Vantage, etc, wanting something more special and the F badge. If it looks good, I can see this having good demand and strong residuals.
Not exactly the same, the 488 has many differences (different displacement for starters), but my main disagreement was about the comparison with the engine in the Alfa. Not happening. The final car left the production line today. Only models on stock for sale.
Pricing will be interesting . 2 seater front engine sports cars are quite a niche . If it’s cheap and Aston priced it has a chance . Residuals strong is a bold call for this type of car in my view. Dealers will love having to deal with the Maserati and Astons being traded in for it without manufacturer support . As ever , great initial hit , the car will be fantastic, as only F know how , but the market economics are a whole new ball game for the dealer network .when playing in this segment and client base . Will be a bargain 6 months to a year in , then it would be an interesting proposition as it meets 911 and Mercedes GT price points . Looks great though and that is not a bad thing . Be interesting to observe this one .
Wonder if the roofline and quarter window will look like this, like on the 812 GTS, or no quarter window in proper SWB style. Probably not the latter for question of visibility. Hopefully won't have the silly extra-long skirts aft of the front wheels (like on Portofino and SF90). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ill say close but rear lights to be more like the SF90 and front lights like the F8 a smaller version of the 812
A lot of people buy F for show off. Lusso doesn’t fit . It is just the car for every day for people who wants to drive Ferrari . Fantastic car. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Such a beautiful car. Always thought that the 456 is underrated. Also I wonder why Ferrari never unveils their cars in Verde, such a beautiful color on Ferraris. Looking forward to todays unveiling Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Does anyone know what time the event is suppose to take place today? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Could this be flush automatic door handles a la Porsche 992? Or just a button you push inn? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Customer launches tend to be evening events but the internet launch is usually around lunchtime (so about six hours from now)
Do you remember in 2008 when they launched California? There was a dedicated site, where they revealed a detail like every week...Or even the live streaming for the FF For LaFerrari they were very good. Only a few hours before Geneva they came out of the pages of a magazine with photos. But when they unveiled the car it was exciting! No one had ever seen it before, except the customers
Dino 308/208 GT4 bertone -> Mondial -> California -> Portofino. Este nuevo GT no puede ser un Dino, porque Dino es el Portofino. En mi opinión, este nuevo GT es un modelo superior ... Please stop asking for the dino. The dino already exists for 50 years in Ferrari
Nothing in common with Dino, It had central engine! This Ferrari Roma is unique, the first-ever front-engine V8 coup-berlinetta
Anyone know when the press release will be? The 812 GTS was about a week after viewings! I was told that they were not allowed to take cameras / phones in today, which might indicate the press release might not be this week.
Motor1 italia will be in rome tomorrow. Online reveal today! Why put that teaser on instagram/Facebook/Twitter?
