Also while I had the car on that stands, I decided I'd lower her. Wanted to get rid of that SUV fender gap look with the stock height.

To lower the car i couldn't turn the spring collar on the coilover. The springs had to be compressed in order to move the collar and I found two spanner wrenches I had laying around from my Nissan 370z coilover system. I used one for the locking collar and another for the spring collar. They worked nicely to turn those collars.

Bought a set of coilover spring compressor from Amazon. Worked actually nicely for the 355 spings. Not a perfect compressor, but it's perfect for its size.

That compressor doesn't work perfectly, but it sure is small enough to get in there. Overall it did the job I needed.
Compressed those springs and adjusted the collar 16 turns down. Front takes 16 turns, the rear coilover can go a lot lower but of course needed to match the front. Below is how much lower I could go. 1" inch.

    So here's before and after.

The final results is the front sits a bit higher than the rear, but that's how it was with the factory height. The difference is i'd say about the finger gap. But overall looks a lot better than before. Only an 1" drop but make a difference in how the car looks. What do you guys think???
The quality of the pictures are not the same sadly. That's real camera vs iphone x. I will get better shots with my good camera after I get the alignment done.

Now need to get the alignment done asap.

Excellent work. But can I ask an O/T question? What camera are you using for these most recent photos? Spectacular, btw.

ok so a few weeks ago I did my gear change again from Redline NS to Shell Spirax S5. My 1st gear change was with Redline NS and it did kinda fix my cold 2nd gear, but it gave me hard shifting in other gears once in a while. So basically my shifting were rough still.
So MAD828 or his instagram user "RestoredByElliot" recommended this oil.

And let's end all of these gear change oil wars! This is the best stuff you can get for your 355. Redline is junk compare to this stuff! Why in the world we don't have this stuff in the states!!?? It's not sold in the United States by the way. I had to buy 20 Liter drum, that was the best option.

So my shifting now almost completely fixed, no more cold gear rough changes in any gear. And it seems like it gets better everytime I drive the car. I've only driven the car twice since then.

Love your thread & work & the car!

Since you asked what I/we think about the ride height adj,...your fender gaps look perfect. Somehow it appears in this pic that your clearance of front bumper to the ground is high. Is that what you are questioning as well? It might just be the pic & angle, I dunno.
Anyhow, carry on! Looks like your car is in good hands.

No meant the clearance from the wheel gap to the fender. The rear sit's pretty good, the front is still a bit high to what I wanted to get it to, but it's lowered to the max. To get any lower need to get different springs. If only the front would sit as good as the rear does that would be nice.

This oil (as well as Mobil Mobilube PTX90) is specified for manual transaxles and some differentials for Porsche going back at least to the mid 90’s.

The Shell S5 (renamed from Shell Transaxle) is hard to find but I also managed to buy 5 gallon pail.

Used it to first to change the trans oil in my brother’s 993 C2S. Also going to use it to go back to ‘stock’ in my 993TT and F355.

I have replaced mine twice and always from Ricambi. The new units are to strong and as you noted hold the lid up. Where did you source shocks that did not so this???

Good to see the work being done! I've been lurking for a while and this thread inspires me to inch forward. So If I can sell my 87 930 for a good price I'll be in the market for an F355. I like the spiders but coupes are nice to. Manual for sure!

I actually found a set on ebay. Has it for 4 month now and no issues. But you can actually get the stock ones for $10 more. If I knew that I would have done that. The stocks are like $30?
