Ferrari ROMA

What makes sense to one person, may not make sense to another.
Ferrari expects 70% new customers (first time buyers) for the Roma.
For the Portofino it is 50% and for the F8 Spider it is 40% new clients.

That color shows the creases I was talking about. Glad to see they are there.

 

The Aston looks almost gaudy compared to the reasonably understated Roma. Lots of folds, creases and venting for the Brit. Hardly any for the Italian.

Turnabout is fair play I suppose.

Roma has much cleaner (simpler) lines and design.
Body volume seems carved from a single block of metal.

Grigio Titanio, Blu Scozia or TdF will work fine, as well as Verde Zeltweg or Seabird...

 

Roma is best looking Ferrari since 812, strange that Roma got much more criticism than SP90

and if you apply a similar eye to the portofino, you must see it as terrible as i do. the portofino is much busier than the vantage, which is what attracted me tot he vantage to begin with.

imo the 812 is literally butt ugly.
and yes, the roma is nicer than the 812.

You couldn't pay me to have a hardtop convertible. The main reason Calis and Portofinos are a non starter for me. I hate fully open convertibles, and the weight and complexity of the roof mechanisms are ridiculous. They fail often. They also reduce chassis rigidity and cause rattles and squeaks. Sunroofs and targa tops are fine, in fact, I have a sunroof/stick 360 and a 308 GTSi.

I've wanted another 2+2 since I sold my 456M. The FF/Lusso is fulgly, and the 612 is pretty long in the tooth now. I'd rather have the Roma than them at this point, I think.

Performance wise, the Roma would pull away from the V12 612 at the starting line, and never look back. Plus, it looks like Pininfarina could have penned it.

The body painted grille is an issue for me on lighter colors. But maybe there’s a solution.

The wire mesh is just WRONG . It should be behind the plastic vanes. Looks like an after thought
