812 VS Rumors

I think it is a bit country specific but if you can get an invite to launch (I'm guessing Q1 2020) you will be allocated a car.

 

The two reasons I heard from AD as to why there are over 100 812s on the market
1. The gts is out (not really, probably at least 18 months away) and
2. The car scares people

 

While I agree that the 812 is scary, to me, it’s not nearly as scary as the F12. Somehow, Ferrari managed to do the impossible, make it much faster AND more planted than the F12. YMMV.

 

Funny, they used to say the 599 GTO was great because it was scary and the F12, although faster and more powerful, was more planted. Ferrari seems to do the impossible quite often. Yes my F12 is scary. So are my race bikes.

 

This is not new.
My 250 GTE is bloody terrifying. 120 MPH and in a crash you'd be better off on one of your race bikes !
But hey, Forza Ferrari !

 

I never drove an F12 but I can't see how the 812 is scary - apart from the risk of losing the driving license...

 

Zero to prison in about 4.3 seconds... To me it’s scary because of the nature of front engine (ok, front mid-engine) cars combined with the overall heft of the car. Definitely more of a white knuckle experience than my Performante which is everything the 812 isn’t save for the boisterous NA engine.

 

Any news about 812 VS?

I am thinking 2020. Maybe Geneva or around when Pebble Beach 2020 occurs, in August.

 

Here's to hoping they opt to make enough of these so that I can get one.

Seems like they're trending in that direction lately, since becoming a public company. They're cranking out 488 Pista Coupes like nobody's business! (I don't mind, I'm a shareholder. Make me money.)

Don't think so as another manufacturer will release a car at Pebble and they wont get the mileage on the 812VS as this car will over-shadow the 812VS

I think it might be 812 VS at Geneva (customer launch prior to that) and 812 VS Spider at Pebble.

 

Not at liberty to say unfortunately...

The only limited cars are the Icon series , so any 812 VS will be like the Pista , build as many as you want. No need to have a purchase history, wait 12 months and the massive depreciation of Ferrari cuts in and get a bargain.

 

If the 812VS ends up like the Pista, I'll actually be pretty happy.
