I'm done with Seb. He's not worthy of a top drive. He should partner Grosjean at Haas.

would be a change of pace if Seb owned his mistakes like a man for once in his career.

Edit: nope, same old Seb, claiming he was entitled to be ahead lol. at least he’s consistent.

So how did such a light tap cause all that damage? They just brushed each other, but Chuck's suspension failed. WTF!

Racing incident all day, Albon moved on LH. The only reason LH took responsibility is because it doesn't matter.

Vettel was in front. The man in front can move, the man behind has to let him space. Easy for Leclerc to do this.

Again, Leclerc should have counter acted to Seb moving over and pass him the next opportunity, Ham would have moved over to avoid contact, Leclerc will learn this patience with time, Vettel will be Vettel, but Leclerc can't be too stubborn, avoid contact and try again later

impossible to adjust in time for that move by vettel. vettel started leaning in on leclerc before he was really past.
sorry, but your countryman is in the wrong.
and he deserves to be retired.

If the Ferrari pit wall wasn't the running joke of the team, they would have let Chuck go, he should have caught Albon and been on the podium, but that requires brains.

VET fault all the way, he has been a joke the last four years.

Alex saying he dove into the corner not knowing where Hamilton was.

Both guys taking ownership of their roles in the incident...how refreshing!

i think the action of the fast spinning wheels, and brief contact, created a moment of torsion on leclerc's suspension, and CF is very brittle with pressure not in line with the direction of the weave.
and then leclerc's end plate nicked vettel's tire to deflate it.
dont forget they were running 25psi, and at that speed, the whole thing is at max pressure, so very susceptible

I’m still not looking to bury Seb. He wants to cover off in his pass and make it stick. A mistake of millimeters but another self-inflicted wound again for the Scuderia.

"Any driver defending his position on a straight, and before any braking area, may use the fullwidth of the track during his first move, provided no significant portion of the car attempting to pass is alongside his. Whilst defending in this way the driver may not leave the track without justifiable reason. For the avoidance of doubt, if any part of the front wing of the car attempting to pass is alongside the rear wheel of the car in front this will be deemed to be a ‘significant portion’."

Hamilton was "alongside", and therefore Albon must give room at the apex. Same is true for the Vettel/Leclerc incident.

By the way ... i hate this rule.

If you didn't enjoy today's race, you are not an F1 fan. There were some GREAT battles and passing, plenty of drama. I hate Seb's bonehead move, but it's not like it was a dull race....

If Ferrari can get their act together, I'd love to see Max replace Seb, although perhaps he is better off at RB for now. Someone needs to stomp Merc for sure....

Just to tell you I‘m not a fan of Vettel. He‘s done a lot of mistakes, but this accident is the mistake of Leclerc. He had the opportunity to pass the next five laps again, knowing he has the better tyres. He will learn rapidly to use his head in such a situation.

Agreed. The contact looked so slight too, it's astonishing that it resulted in such catestrophic damage and the double DNF. We've seen similar little wheel rubs countless times in the season with no appreciable damage to either car.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I rather think it is the team's fault. They have mishandled their drivers the whole season (and the strategy and the car...), frequently giving team orders at the wrong time. Leclerc had newer tyres, Vettel had made a mess of the restart so the two cars were in close proximity with the likely faster car behind. The team should be making very clear to both drivers at that point what should be happening. That said, I find it hard to care too much that they crashed out of 4th and 5th.
