I'm about to purchase a Ferrari that is offered with a 2 yr CPO that just began this month. Please excuse my paranoia, but I think I might like to verify the validity of this. It is not a reflection on the person selling me the vehicle, but I am putting good money out there and would like as much comfort as I can get. Can any dealer verify this?

Unlike Porsche, BMW, or MB, I have never seen a CPO sheet from Ferrari. I assume that the dealer could provide you with something in writing to confirm that the car is a CPO. I would ask them for a list of what was done to the car (new tires etc.) to bring the car to CPO spec.

If you don’t buy it from a dealer you might not have the warranty transferred.

Do you want to confirm it went thru the CPO inspection and was sold as "CPO eligible"?

Or are you trying to confirm the terms of a prior purchased extended warranty?

If the former, ask for the paperwork from the buyer. If he doesn't have it, ask him to get it from the selling dealer.

If the later, the same. Although you should be able to call a Ferrari dealer service manager and have the vin handy. They should be able to tell you how much warranty it has. (there is a chance they won't release that to anyone other than the owner, in which case the owner may need to get that info from them.)

Lastly, as Smiles pointed out, make sure that the warranty can be transferred to subsequent owners (starting with you). Btw - the extended warranties on Ferrari's start at $4000/year or so, so getting the details in writing is not trivial.

Thank you all very much - If the deal goes further I will request verification from a dealership that it is valid and transferable. I'm new to the Ferrari world, so I really appreciate the advice. There is another car competing with this one that is from a dealership, so that one should be just fine. Want to see apples to apples before I pull the trigger!

This form should be provided to each buyer from a Ferrari Dealership , outlining what was checked and/or performed:

Form 1 - Ferrari Approved Certified Pre Owned inspection certificate

God news is that the warranty stays with the car not the owner.

The only time this is not true , is if a Ferrari Dealership purchases a Ferrari from a client and then resells it.

The Dealership would have to re-certify the car and add the new warranty option to the Ferrari ( starting fresh for the new owner )

Agree and confirmed. I received the inspection certificate as part of my purchase.
