I live on an island with a 7+ miles long derestricted mountain road behind my house. Ie no speed limits. The downforce generated by the functional rear wing is needed at high speeds the car regularly gets to, in fact I need a front diffuser too. The wing will be replaced soon with a recently sourced factory genuine rare as hens teeth Michelotto NGT rear wing.. So not tacky, functional. This car is no garage queen it gets used hard. If I had the time I'd use the same concept as on my Mclaren 12C and do an active rear wing and use it as an airbrake too.
Hi Trev, Thanks for the very detailed description on the mods to the dash and fitting of door cards. I am just about to embark on this. Just wondered if you could post how to remove the dashboard, upper and lower. I think to most of us this is a daunting task.
I managed to get the Brembo Carbon Ceramic decals produced by a decal company in Jersey. They were not cheap though. £30 for 4 decals! Paul
HI Anyone know where I can get some brake bell to disc securing bolts in 60mm length. I am fitting 458 front discs on 430 Challenge bells and my bolts are not long enough. They are like the pic attached. I need 20. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some latest pics... Had huge YouTube interest, some big video's of my car being driven coming soon. Photos @ AV Engineering. Watch this space for the links... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking brilliant Trev. Im guessing a video with Sam , going by the AV connection and his love for the 360/Strad ??
If this happens, I'm taking partial credit. I commented on his recent video where he got to drive the first "real" 6-speed Stradale, saying that he needed to read this thread. Manual Stradales are getting publicity right now because people are finally building them on Stradale chassis, but this car takes the cake as far as I am concerned. And it has a great ongoing, evolving story. Looking forward to the video Trev!
whoa man I just found this tread too. . You and Randy have inspired me to do this conversion so I just picked up a gated to do this conversion..... man this is awesome! Trev, you never installed the poem CS carbon door cards.... Is the fitment/install/modification on the factory CS ones much harder on a stock Modena door than the 430 challenge cards?
As promised here's the video... And YES it was Sam from @SeenThroughGlass who has done the first of several big time YouTuber's who are going to drive it soon. Hope you enjoy it. First it
Always crazy to see some of the guys behind the screen names. I've always pictured Aldous and Trev as 6' 6 dudes with a cape and the ability to fly and shoot lasers from their eyes.
Great video !! Trev I see you have the red Alcantara head liner like mine . Love those seats great job !!
Trev How easy is is to remove the dash as I want to install carbon door cards. You're going way too fast. We need full explanation on how you got the dash out. Do I need both top and bottom removed?
remove the bottom first, then the top need to remove the ac vents to access some hidden screws not too easy if you don't have a shop manual. mainly 2 things. 1st you need to bend your body like hell sometimes. 2nd you need to use your intelligence to guess where the screws are if you don't have a manaul.
Quick question Trev, what does the NACA duct actually do on the Michelotto unobtanium bonnet (or indeed your car)? Does it go to the AC radiator? Something else? I've always wondered.
And here's the car about a month or so ago winning the "Car of the Show" in Lagoa, Algarve, Portugal. And JayEmm reviewing it a couple of months ago (ish), just incase you missed it!
