Xbox- I have read this previously. What is your point? I fully expect the F8 to be a more accomplished and compelling driving car than the 720S and the reviewer echos that sentiment. My comment was in response to a poster implying that the F8 may well prove disappointing to those with a 720S.

since i own 720s and hopped into an F8 which dealer had during the F8 tour, i thought F8 was flawless in every aspect but not materially more capable than a 720. in fact, the dealer highlighted the performance and drive of an F8 is very “comparable” to the 720 and its bite... The F8 is flawless in every aspect which i posted in another thread but would not say the drive is better and the car was more capable. Very awesome car... interior and out.

that said, may get one. but, my concern is depreciation is going to be much larger than the past. Seeing it with 488 first hand. question is order new and get an april-ish delivery, wait and get one slightly used or wait for spider coming out... Plenty of option coming out with ferrari given the demands of their shareholders... the dealer is willing to give me a quick slot which was not a characteristic of Ferrari in the past... you’ll need to stomach depreciation like 720 (2 year old cars with ~3,000 miles selling for 250-260k in my area in US so about 80k in 2 years of 40k per year).

But to original question, the F8 is not more capable per say though almost flawless... if anything, performance is on par... Most exciting model to date IMHO.... for recent times. Even for Mac owners, the design of car is very evolutionary and aggressive.

Since you mention depreciation, the 720s is plummeting in value and I do not believe the worst is over. If you are enamoured by the F8 and prefer it over the 720s, then go for it. If you are trading in the 720 then the sooner you do it , the smaller the financial hit. Ultimately, buy the car you really want.

I must admit I am confused by your statements “ flawless in every aspect “ and “most exciting model to date”. You wax lyrical about the F8 which would imply that a highly enthusiastic purchase would logically ensue. Yet you are filled with doubt. If I ever encountered a car that was flawless I would buy it on the spot and feel like I entered nirvana.

not sure they (720) are plummeting in value and spider out already and no new model until 2023 outside of an LT so prices have actually been stable.

that said, its not a one or the other for me... the decision is to own both... the question for me is timing: new and stomach similar depreciation as Mac with F8 Spiders coming and more models being produced, wait and buy lightly used in time etc... point is depreciation is now a factor with most supercars and market in general is soft... just got to deal with it lol...

Sounds better IN THE COCKPIT than the 488 and Pista. Well. that's not saying much.

Still having a hard time justifying trading my 2012 458 Spider 32k+ miles on an F8 Spider. Guessing it would be at least $150k difference. You can buy a pretty nice Porsche for that and still keep the 458.

Drove the F8 also today at Ferrari of Central Florida. I’ll echo others comments- feels faster than my 488 and the ride was far superior. Very capable and incredibly planted. Came away happy with my deposit and my spec.

Cannot comment on the 720 but the upgrades in the cockpit, the ride, and the finish are quite above the 488.

Now about that sound......better in the F8 coupe than my 488 spider but not sure it’s good or better than the 488.

More people who can easily differentiate one model car from another. If the positive comments on the F8 continue, someone on this forum will be very disappointed.

I am sure it is fantastic but keep in mind what they are comparing it to. If 458, the F8 is light years ahead in performance. If it is the 488 you get comments pertaining to the more modern interior and updated exterior. Its all relative.

This was mentioned by a couple of people here but I have also heard from 488 friends/owners that I personally know who felt there was an improvement in drivability but it wasn't enough to trade out of their 488 and spend the extra $100K or so. Most comments were about the additional power and updates in the interior and exterior. Some just want the latest thing which is just fine too.

I think if it was 100k I would go for it but I think by the time I would get a spider it will be more like 150-175 for me as I have 7,800 miles on my 2018 spider already. Oh well ....
