DRS Enabled!
Dominant Hamilton wins Abu Dhabi GP Brilliant, absolutely brilliant from Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes. That's win number 11 of the season for the world champion and win number 84 of his career. In a different class to everyone else today.
Mercedes should get most credit - Bottas started last and finished 4th, very close to the podium. If Leclerc gets whatever penalty due to Ferrari's stupid fuel mistake, Bottas will end on the podium.
We still have to see what the stewards will make of the alleged fuel infringement on Leclerc's car, detected just before the start. Will it affect the result, or no ?
Disappointing end for a disappointing season. I'll spend the next months in fetal position crying. And next year we'll try again, as always. Forza.
Yes, a very good season for him. Hamilton wasn't as dominating as in previous years, but fought well and sensibly to get the title. Mercedes-AMG is still head and shoulders above other teams. They should dedicate that title to Niki Lauda who was an inspiration. I don't care if they leave or if they stay, Mercedes will have left its mark in F1.
Dull race. Interesting that podium was taken up by the best 3 drivers in F1 right now in Ham, Lec and Vers. Only man missing was Sainz. He deserves an honourable mention for completely out performing expectations this year. Not much else to say. Onwards to 2020. Have a great winter break everyone!
What the Fudge? Hamilton walking away from everyone -- even Bottas. While Merc turned up Ham's car, Ferrari seems to have put a taxi engine in Charles'. Why did they bring Charles in so early? Just because they wanted to bring in Vettel, and Ferrari can't understand two race strategies? Even Sky was saying it was obvious that they should put Leclerc on fresh tires (around 20 to go), and they didn't bring him in until they brought Vettel in, also. It's like they only have one pit engineer for Vettel, and Leclerc is forgotten. Fresh softs and Leclerc still couldn't run a fast lap. Traffic or just a clapped out mill? Heck of a move on Max, early, but the car just wasn't there. Not to mention Ferrari screwing Leclerc's race with paperwork before the lights. I wonder what teams Charles' manager might be talking to. Surely there's a team that will let Charles run, instead of holding him back. Give creds to Bottas for getting so far in 18 laps without DRS. That was the most entertaining part of the race. (I notice they finally fixed DRS when Hulk was holding up the parade.)
Norris did well holding off Perez. Was hoping there might be a little back and forth between those 2 over the last 10 laps. Glad CL could hold off Bottas. Really a mystery why Ferrari could not make the Med's work this yr. Oh well, time to begin dreaming about next year.
F1 is dead, since a long time, and people start to realise it. It has become a completely dull and boring something... I won't call it sport.
