I'm not a buyer but I'm confused about the transmission in this car. The window sticker says it's an automatic 4 speed + OD, w/ torque converter. The controls look like a standard F1 setup, and I thought that the 456 was the last 4 seater to offer an auto w/ torque converter. Is the window sticker incorrect?
You are correct, the 612 has an F1 transmission. God bless the Italians...I have no idea why the sticker reads that way. Perhaps it was an early build and they corrected the wording later.
Just went to wikipedia (not sure how accurate) but yes 2 transmissions offered. Also didn't realize the car hits almost 200mph and 4 sec 0-62. Engine[edit] The 612 Scaglietti shares its engine with the 575 Superamerica - despite the name's suggestion that it is a six-litre V12 the displacement is actually 5,748 cc (5.7 L). The engine has a compression ratio of 11:1 and enables the car to attain a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph) and allows it to accelerate from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 4 seconds.[1] Engine type Power, torque 5,748 cc (350.8 cu in) V12 (Tipo F133F) 540 PS (397 kW; 533 hp) at 7,250 rpm, 588 N⋅m (434 lb⋅ft) at 5,250 rpm Transmissions[edit] Image Unavailable, Please Login Interior with F1 paddle shift transmission Two choices of transmissions were available on the 612, a 6-speed manual or the 6-speed semi-automatic paddle shift transmission designated the F1A, a much refined version of the F1 transmission used in the 360.
Just about everything you read on Wiki about Ferraris is incorrect. The Type F133G engine on the Superamerica is a hot-rodded 575M engine, while the Type F133F engine on the 612 is very different and came out much earlier. They both are rated at 540 hp, so the Wiki "expert" assumed they were the same. The Monroney 4 speed automatic entry was carried over from the 456M Monroney by Ferrari North America, which they used as a template for the early 612. Not the Italians fault this time, but the Americans at FNA. Obviously incorrect since the 612 has the F1A system, which actually is shared with the Superamerica. Thanks for the Monroney, which shows that the transition from Motronic 7.1.1 to 7.3.2 was very early in 612 production. Very nice 612 at that price.
My Brothers!! Lots of FUN AND EXCITEMENT!! Mike 973-610-7111 https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/anyone-that-wants-to-buy-or-sell-a-ferrari-the-right-way.586271/
I'm just asking if you have been able to verify, in person, that this car is what you state it to be?
I think anybody who was really interested in a car (and not just wasting people's time) would want to go see the car and drive it.
I'm in no way, shape, or form interested in purchasing the car. Just confused as to how someone can represent a car that they have not laid eyes on or have any recent history with besides listing the car.
Park Baby!! I reviewed the service history of the car it’s perfect and it’s worth the money if you’re not interested in buying it then don’t buy it and MoveOn brother brother happy holidays baby PS you’re confused state of mind is not my problem
If you are not interested in the car why harass the person representing it ? Mike is a paid sponsor and has sold many cars on FChat. Maybe you should get some business and mind it. Best ,Kirk.
My Brothers!! HAPPY SATURDAY!!!! ATTACK!!!! GET IN THE GAME NOW!!!! UNEQUIVOCALLY AND TOTALLY MIKE-APPROVED !!!!!!!!
