There are fatal accidents everyday involving all types of cars - so by this reasoning, all cars are too fast for the streets.

This thread is to spurn dialogue and and thought provoking reasoning. I currently own and have owned numerous Ferraris. I will always own them. How fast will these cats get? Should a driver's program be imposed before purchase? Should they limited to track?
I live in a free part of the world. I can post my ideas or questions.

PS...Shmee gives access to cars most can't see or didn't even know about. Keep up the good work Shmee

They have always been too fast for the street. That doesn't mean they can't be enjoyed responsibly. Or enjoyed irresponsibly on a track.

People die even in bicycle accidents. This thread is moot...

your points are worthy of discussion, regardless if I agree with you or not

if we were all sitting in a room this discussion would be much more courteous, face to face :)

almost every car made today can exceed 100 mph, albeit some get there quicker than others

IMO it's the driver, not the car, that is responsible for the accidents you posted

though I think Shmee is rather annoying, he is more knowledgable about cars than I am, so I learn something from his videos ;)

Yes, bicycles are also too fast for the streets (particularly is the streets are going downwards)...

My initial take on the start of the first page was 2 crashes in the USA in 2 days.

Now with advent of e-bikes they are too fast for the streets!
Here in NYC everyone is complaining that bicycle fatalities are increasing- well duh- the number of bikers on city streets has increased exponentially -of course there will be more accidents- even if our mayor keeps increasing bike lanes and decreasing car lanes(which has decreased car speed to a crawl)

As with most car accidents, the number one killer isn't the crash, it is the not wearing a seatbelt properly part.

    https://www.edgarsnyder.com/car-accident/defective-products/seat-belts/seat-belts-statistics.html

Ferrari's aren't the big problem at all. More people die in car accidents in the U.S. per year than Ferrari's are produced. While seat belts are mandated by law, I don't understand why cars move at all if the driver's seatbelt isn't clicked in. That might cost three more dollars per car to implement.

It wouldn't cost anything at all, as all cars have seat belt sensors; it would be just a line of code on the central control unit. My guess is that it isn't implemented for security reasons (need to start as quickly as possible).

The FACT is that these new cars although powerful are SO EASY to drive that when these types of catastrophic accidents happen it is WITHOUT ANY DOUBT the absolute fault of the driver for being careless and reckless. You have to be trying to wreck these cars or you’re simply driving extremely carelessly and irresponsibly.

But you obviously have an agenda that you think could be achieved through the discussion you are initiating by posting dozens of Ferrari accidents. You did the same thing on V12 forum.

Are you suggesting the current speed limit is too high or too low? To increase the legal age of driver license? Annual vision test? Increase criteria for older folks?

I do smell politics, and I suggest you be more transparent. Asking Ferrari owners including yourself if Ferrari is too fast is as dubious as candy is too sweet and causes diabetes. Don't eat candy if you worry about being diabetic. Don't step on the gas too hard if you worry about flying the car down the road and flip it.

    Too err is human.

You want policy discussion? Go to the right forum.

Just supporting your point that 400 bhp is too fast for you. You proved it on the streets.

Cars are safer than they have have been for the most part.

The people that drive them are dumber than ever for the most part.

Right; since u enjoy sharing incomplete information u should add that mine happened at 25mph whilst a deer jumped in front of my car. Could have happened in my electric Fiat, albeit less expensive repairs. Ceramic brakes were not cheap indeed.
