Yep,also they might consider it as a plan B in case the whole Hybrid V6 TT turns out not to be such a great hit.They must have established the real world demand for SF90 already ..maybe they were a bit underwhelmed by it?
SF90 is a hit and sold out. Try to get an allocation. Not possible. The future is hybrid and they already have the sf90. Little brother coming soon. F8 VS- remains to be seen but my money is on day55 and his post- no vs.

Has ferr9000 chimed in on this? Curious to know. Would I go from Pista to sf90? Sure. But I find the sf90 cost prohibitive. Let’s see what little brother has to offer.
I passed on an SF90 allocation. $600-700k for Ferrari' first mainstream hybrid with funky lines and performance barely better than a 720 and the weight of Mustang GT500. The Pista is a much better option IMO.
No doubt about anything you are saying. Despite that- around here impossible to get an allocation. My friends have tried to no avail
we heard that same story about availability when the Pista was introduced. Again there will be some allocations available if you are in the right place at the right time. If you are not hung up on having the so-called "latest and greatest" then the old style Pista offers more of what special Ferrari V8 models once stood for. Pista really is the end of an era. Pista is a golden opportunity compared with what is coming later...
Since no one outside the company has driven the SF 90 Stradale, I am intrigued to know how some people have come to the conclusion that it won't be better to drive and won't outperform the Pista...

Exactly right. Normally, the next generation production model would be not quite as focused as the prior VS model. However, this time they are doing something different. So what if the car has the same level of visceral interaction as the Pista, but now with more power and traction? You can argue weight, but, I think for a street car weight is not the end all be all. It is nice to keep it as low as possible, of course, but I think you could prefer a car that is even a few hundred pounds heavier based on how it drives on the street. Against a stop watch is where you really have to watch about weight. Anyway, on one hand it seems like why would they develop the 4.0 V8 just to use on the SF90. On the other hand, it is part of a special unique package for the SF90. I guess we will find out in due time.

I think we will have to see as this is Ferraris first car of this type (hybrid, regular production, but relatively high price). I do like that image, but at the moment I am far too happy with my Pista
Ferrari seem to have gotten into 'preview mode' earlier and earlier for new products. However when it comes to actually delivering the cars they mostly seem to be in 'catch up' mode with delivery times stretched out. The market is spoiled with many choices lately so it is too early for an answer.
As others have suggested I would say so and, suspect the take up will be predominately from the die hard loyalists. Most I've spoken to couldn't care less if it outperformed Pista....certainly wouldn't swap mine for one at any money. Not a chance. Given the assurances that Pista was 100% the last special version, if an F8VS surfaces then it could only be due to SF90 not producing enough sales. And (sadly) that would not surprise me even though the result would be a lot of Pista customers winding up under the bus (again).
Yes it certainly looks like Ferrari has dug quite a hole for themselves with that car.. especially with the way the market has gone now.

Or they were expecting low sales out of big brother and the only reason they introduced it was to test the market and prepare the market for the launch of what will be their expected big seller- little brother. I mean at 600-700k i can't imagine they will sell a ton of them but maybe that's by design.
I think design is THE major problem. Not many like the look of it off this board - actually only the dealer likes it. The general talk is maybe the odd fat cat loyalist will buy one but the enthusiast end has clearly turned their noses up at it. If LB has resolved the appearance and lowered the price then it may get better traction in the usual market but those I've spoken to who can afford an Sf90 have zero interest in it. Ever since SF90's release most have made a "Bee line" to F8.
