My 01 modena blinker relay died last year..... it was on back-order or not avail from the mothership.
Dealer quoted $800....... so went with the solid state aftermarket unit.

I'm happy to say the factory units are back in stock at the home-land.... was able to source it $212.

Get them while they are avail.

While the fancy solid state programable unit was nice... I prefer the factory part.

I'll be selling my after market programable blinker module.
    I have 2....
1 that is a year old, and 1 that is a few months old.

Why change back from a solid state relay which are far superior and should never fail again? Internally they are controlled by light rather than big lumps of metal which wear out to an old cheap mechanical relay based on 80s technology ?

It's like downgrading from an Ssd hard drive back to a 3.5' floppy drive just because thats what your laptop came with when new... So what?

BTW.. The original SDC relay used on the 360 was also shared with the Alfa Romeos. It wasn't a Ferrari specific part.

I actually ran one myself for a while before upgrading to ssd relay capable of driving leds without double blink or hacky resistors to draw current. The only difference I saw was the cover was black on Alfa one and green on Ferrari one. Both internals where identical..

No I get that, it was the intention to 'downgrade' that I was questioning the rationale of.

Is it literally just to keep absolute originality? Or some other concern? Not even talking about vendor here.

Crazy thing is with that SDC relay is the chip responsible for doing the delayed blinking of the bulbs is actually using a timer and doesn't need relays at all, it's all integrated into the ic itself.. The reason why they still used relays was to give the clickly relay sound everyone is so familiar with. Seems such a stupid thing that when those relays fail it doesn't still work as intended but without the relay click sound... Instead it just doesn't work period. Wonderful bit of work there... Sigh...

Trev - after running the solid state units for the past year.... I find the orig part fits the character of the car better. Call me weird.
Not a big fan of the beeps.... prefer the mech click of the orig inferior part ;).... but I'm old.

    My math -

Original old tech relay: $800.... NO

Original old tech relay: $200.... YES.

Thats weird, my dealer is awash in blinker fluid, they tell me its a steal at only $1200 an ounce, and they tell me it makes the car go faster too.

I don't think that's why. You don't need to be a paying member to use the PM/Conversation feature. Maybe you have it disabled in your profile?
