They couldn’t do it if the land vendors/ authorities weren’t complicit. Big Land Court case running here at present to stop Sekisui (Japan) development that contravenes the local town plan. I don’t care who the owners are - if it contravenes the Town Plan - push off! Gold Coast has a huge history of poor planning decisions (beach shadowing; toxic canals).
