    No.
If you drive a V12 every day you don't want to go down. You always wanna go up.

I like it more and more.
    So much class and elegance.
I might be minority, but I like the grill also, and think if it all is black, the splitter will not like that nice.
Classy and unique in my view.
But i do agree , does not (the grill) look that nice in bright colors.
Agree , it would be amazing as 007, but not also there.
Most elegant Ferrari and car in total, in decades .

I love it too, but I still think the most elegant Ferrari is the Monza

The more I see it the more I love it! The best Ferrari in decades. And with a V12 it would be a perfect 10!

Is Flavio Manzoni and his Ferrari design team bipolar ?

In a relatively short space of time they designed two different GT models using completely different approaches. The Roma was designed with clean lines transmitting an idea of harmony, and a beautiful dynamic in balance with a prominent front, wrap-around, giving a lot of tension to the car. The cabin is very compact, sitting on the rear wheel like the beautiful Ferrari GTs in the '50s and the '60s. The 812 Superfast was designed to its pure aerodynamic function with a surface treatment that is highly sculptural with a bold interplay of convex and concave shapes, many air intakes, out-takes, diffusers and spoilers.

Such a different design approach and look between these two cars that are both GTs , can only be justified if there are huge differences in the profiles of clients that purchase one model or the other.

Well said. I think the two cars are aimed at pretty different target audiences. The 812 is a very serious and advanced piece of machinery in terms of aerodynamics, the 790-hp 6.5L NA engine, packaging, gearbox, rear wheel steering, etc. I think it’s most likely to appeal to older tifosi who grew up loving the cutting-edge front-engined GT models that were Ferrari’s world until cars like the Ford GT and Miura came along and largely redefined supercars as mid-engined. My heart has always belonged to the GT cars of the 1950’s and 1960’s. In modern times, the high price point and front-engine design nearly guaranteed that the 812 would never appeal to a wide swath of car nuts or sell in huge numbers.

The Roma is beautiful and elegant to my eyes, but built to a much lower price point. It’s a compromise but a lovely and maybe even more practical one at that. Relatively simple lines and body panels. A smaller, turbocharged WET sump engine. The electronic dashboard gizmos that many folks care more about nowadays than the engine or ultimate performance capabilities. Half the price.

It’s a pretty wise move on Ferrari’s part. They’ll capture some traditional fans who want a cheaper, practical Ferrari for daily use. The FF previously served in that role for us, but our kids are now grown and maybe a 2-seater like the Roma could suffice?

They’ll also capture many new buyers who possibly don’t understand or care about engine or aero tech or Ferrari’s history, and/or need a lower price point. Lots of folks buy lots of things based on looks, without much regard for the internals.

For me personally, it’s a challenge to covet a front-engined Ferrari sporting anything other than a dry sump NA V12. If Ferrari eventually drops a V12 into it, I’d give it some serious thought. It sure looks like there’s enough room in that engine bay, where the V8 looks like a mini-me engine.

true but the Monza is limited edition model, so to compare the 2 is not appropriate in my view.
Btw, I find a lot of similarity between the 2 , much more that some other see with some other cars/brands

Thank you for the detailed explanation that I completely agree with. For me personally the only Aquilles heel on the Roma is also the V8 turbo engine but I understand that this car is mainly focused on a different customer segment. Once our ears get used to the musical purity of a modern Ferrari NA V12 engine, unfortunately there is no compromising or going back. Because the design of the Roma is an undeniable success, we can't discard the possibility of Ferrari applying that formula in a future successor of the 812.

As you said, their target audience is totally different. The 812 is not a GT, it's a front-mid engined supercar; an Aventador rival, just a bit more usable. The Roma is an old school GT. They know what they are doing.

The replacement of the 812 will probably be rear-mid engined. If it remains front-mid engined though, it will surely be aggressive, like the 812, not soft and elegant like the Roma.

Tnx man! Very nice. Unfortunately he skipped the front grill options since car is already dark maybe... But would really like to see how front grill with dark edges comes out...

I think the stats are just "fine", at least for me... As for engine or sound/music of it, I prefer it to be more "numb" because otherwise I am afraid something can come out of me... to just push it too hard :) So I prefer it to be more GT oriented... Much more subtle :) Stealth wealth and all :) Yeah, dreams are everything... Seams the ROMA website is updating regularly :) But no configurator as of yet (for us at least)...

Tiny looking engine there in that large car
I tried unsuccessfully to find a similar diagram of the 812 for comparison
I know it’s not the point of Roma, but it’s eye-catching

What diagram are you looking for? rpm vs power? For 812, please find it attached, it is in the video from the Ferrari 812 website (Explore the engine). And that of Roma under it...

Tried to compare them (Roma, Roma+812, 812) :) Seems not far off?:) That is the best I can do right now... Unless someone finds the actual 812 diagram...
