Can someone please post a pic with the location of the cat ECU on a 2.7 355. I searched the forum but only found pics for the 5.2. I am looking to disconnect it as I'm running test pipes.
Don't have a photo on me, but it's directly under the ECU on each side. Go under the ECU connector, and reach your arm further into the side of the vehicle. You'll feel a box with 2 connectors into it. Those are the Cat ECU's.
Disconnecting will not work. This is probably the easiest/cheapest solution for test pipes: https://technistrada.com/355-360-456-550-575-f50-enzo/5-dummy-load-sdl-bypass.html By the way, there is a cat thermocouple ECU for each main cat. The kit above includes 2 modules (for U$40). Just order "1" set.
Should be an even easier solution by messing around with the thermocouple wiring. Forgot exactly what needed to be done. Will look for a thread.
Correct. I have made my own in the past, but it's a hassle buying and assembling the parts. See the following thread: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/simple-2-7-slow-down-ecu-replacement-only-for-no-cats.538719/ The original poster "wbt" went into commercial production (His company is New Zealand-based "Technistrada")
Thanks. And which of the two connectors do you disconnect? The one with the wiring I'm guessing the other has what looks like a ground cable to it...
The ground cable is the shielded thermal couple. After you remove the TCU, the thermal couple is no longer needed.
