You would be astounded about how much less fatigue there is. Long drives are suddenly easy! I had no idea the noise caused so much fatigue.

Yeah but I think he doesn't want to look like a call centre telephone operator while driving his car... :) :)

After adjusting my accelerator pedal stop screw, took the 308 to have dinner with my wife in Village of Arroyo Grande, Calif. It accelerates very good.

Used my Chinese made wifi 5mm HD borescope and IPAD to verify no loose parts in all the intake ports. I could see the intake valves easily by putting the borescope past the open throttle plates. I was missing a steel bushing which goes over the carb stud after a shop worked on it. Scope worked great!
I also used it to verify my carbs were not on the full throttle stops to prevent stress on throttle cable when pedal was on stop. I also checked my Alfa Engine piston / cylinders were not damaged.

There you go, it's allowed to attenuate the high noise levels of the 308 exhaust.

Finally finished my major service (cam belts, tensioners, all filters, all oils, rotors, caps) and fixed a couple of minor oil leaks along the way. Last thing left was the ignition leads, which has taken me three months to sort out. Previous owner had fitted Taylor 8.2mm straight boot leads. They where looking old and heat affected (even though car ran fine) but were a pain to fit onto the plugs and he had done a pretty ordinary job of trimming the outer insulation to make them fit into the distributor caps. I wanted a modern look that made it easy to remove the leads and eliminated the need for the extenders. After months of searching the internet and collecting second hand sample leads from parts recyclers (to test fit) I found a set that work pretty well. I chose MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor leads, I like MSD and have never had any problems with them on lots of different cars. I reamed out the holes in the cap +.022" and the leads slipped in. Here's some pics of the final result. Cheers

I got tired of hearing a loud vibration at 3500 - 4500 on the passenger side near the seat for a over a year.
I put it up on my lift and remove the cover in the rear passenger wheel well. I found both of the AC hoses were laying on the air intake portion of the body. I put pipe insulation foam around both hoses and installed cable ties to hold in place. No more loud vibration. Yea!!! Photo before foam installation.

I had the same problem for many years. It appeared after an A/C hackjob, when they tightened the hose fittings on the compressor and altered the angle.
When I figured out the problem I played with the fittings and found the correct angle so that the noise disappeared even without sound deadening insulation.
With fittings in this angle position there should be no noise:

Has ez power steering installed. I have a quick rack. Now I need to get used to using less effort!

Certainly very nice around the local streets, but need to try out in the hills.

Sh** of a job putting it in - took me months. Even with the proper tools and an extra set of hands, it must have cost a fortune if you had someone do it for you.

What? Wow. Seems like it took me one day to remove, another day to install. (Several days between the two, as I was also replacing bushings, making shims, etc).
